My mate down the road got a call from cic (club la costa) after going to the ideal home show. From what I’ve seen online, they invite you to a meeting where you have to take your ID, passport, and proof of earnings. That’s when they hit you with the “big pitch” and want you to pay cash straight away for a timeshare. It’s definitely not a free trip. Be careful, don’t hand over any personal details!

I got a random call claiming I'd won a holiday, which was odd as I hadn’t entered any contests. I made sure not to share any details they didn’t already have. They asked me to travel to London to pick up the prize and wanted me to confirm the date. I told them I couldn’t give a date straight away because I needed to arrange time off from work. I suggested they call me back the next day, and they said okay. Once I hung up, I looked up the number online and quickly realised it was just a scam!

this is a total holiday timeshare con by a firm named club la costa, they ring me up daily, sometimes even twice, using different numbers after I block them. they might say you completed a survey but that wasn’t true for me and I’d never agree to any timeshares, no way. I’ve gotten calls like this a few times already. It’s usually just surveys they’re trying to get you to do. If you search for calc holidays, turns out they’re actually advertising timeshares. They can be quite insistent, but you don’t have to agree to anything. Some people have even said the holidays they got were quite decent. Just thought I’d share in case it helps.
