Received a rather alarming call claiming to be from the revenue service, stating they’d been attempting to contact me regarding a potential claim! To top it all off, it turned out to be a recorded message. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Like others have mentioned, I got a call from a woman claiming to be from ‘hmrc’, saying there’s some legal action being taken against me and to press 1 to talk to my case officer. My phone number isn’t listed anywhere either. I’m going to block this number, but does anyone know who’s good at sorting out these annoying calls?

I was already aware of this scam making the rounds, but my heart goes out to older folks since they might get tricked and end up losing money.

I didnt pick up but checked the voicemail and they kept going on about some "lawsuit against you, press 1 to talk to your case officer" - definitely a scam, no legit company would call like that. A quick search online showed loads of others saying the same thing about this number being dodgy.

Got a weird voicemail about supposedly being taken to court by HM Tax, never mentioned who exactly in the house it was for. Tried to ring them back but the line was always busy or not connected. After seeing the comments here (thanks everyone), seems like a total scam. Honestly, these people should be put behind bars.

I just got a call claiming to be from HMRC saying they’re suing me. It’s definitely a scam and something needs to be done to stop these scammers.

this number has called me twice now, and today it was a woman claiming to be from Her Majesty’s tax inspectors with some urgent news. who are these annoying people and how on earth do they get hold of my number? it’s ex-directory and kept private. whoever sells information to these scammers should really be taken to court.

Someone called me earlier claiming to be from the tax office, tried to scare me about unpaid taxes. Quite sure it was a scam, sounded so dodgy. Glad I didn't give them any info. Watch out for these Inland Revenue pretenders!
