I received a call the other day, and when I answered, the chap on the other end asked if it was me. I confirmed that it was, and then I inquired about which company he represented. There was a brief silence before he mentioned it was a survey regarding my current circumstances. At that point, it dawned on me that he was fishing for personal details under the guise of a survey, which felt decidedly dodgy. I promptly declined to share any information with him. I even told the fellow, who appeared to be from India, that I would be reporting his number to the authorities, making him think I had a few pals on the force. He abruptly hung up on me after that-clearly, it hit a nerve!
