As others have mentioned, I received a call from a woman claiming to represent the charity ILM UK, using a number based in London. I was baffled as to how she managed to obtain my details. While I did a bit of digging and found their website seeming quite above board, I became uneasy when she requested my debit card number, CVV, and address. Despite her seemingly genuine tone and the charity's decent appearance, I decided it would be best to end the call. I made my contribution to a more established charity instead, just to be on the safe side.

I recently received a call from this particular number, and I can't recall ever making a donation to this charity in the past. The caller mentioned something about ILM and provided the website ilmuk.org, which does appear to be legitimate. However, she was rather pushy about making a donation over the phone, but I preferred to visit the website instead. Then, quite oddly, she offered to stay on the line while I did that-I'm not entirely clear on why. While this might be a genuine outreach, I'm a bit suspicious about how they obtained my contact information, especially since the caller couldn’t clarify that for me. There’s also the nagging possibility that they might be scammers using the charity’s name and details to trick people.
