I reached out to this chap requesting to be taken off their list! This con artist purported to represent a firm called Shell Energy, attempting to pry into my electricity bill details. He was suggesting I might be paying too much. However, the kicker is, I've never even been a customer of theirs!

A bloke said he was from Shell Energy. Seemed proper sincere and knew his stuff well. The offer sounded way too good to be legit. I kept chatting and asked him to send me the info in writing. Then I checked the number - absolutely a scam.

Someone called me asking if they were speaking to Mrs x (which I’m not). I told them they’d got the wrong number but they kept saying the number was right, just the name was wrong. They claimed to be doing an energy price comparison but when I asked which company they were with, they didn’t reply and talked over me. I asked loads of times for them to take my number off their list, but they just shouted louder and didn’t listen. I ended the call and blocked the number. So pushy and rude, watch out!

Received a call from someone purporting to be from Shell Energy. Strangely enough, they addressed me by my name! They were probing into who my energy supplier is and querying about the payment arrangements. Find that a bit dodgy, so I’ve blocked their number.

I didnt pick up when this number showed, but when I rang it back, an automated voice said something like "you have reached a network number owned by host com limited" and told me to report it. Really strange. Ive gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Just missed a call from this number recently, got a voicemail but the woman spoke really fast and I couldn’t catch most of it. All I got was something like “hello (my name), this is . from . College .. please ring us back.” It made me a bit worried since I used to attend college but none of them would call me on a London number like that and leave such a strange message 😂. Definitely not ringing back after reading the warnings here, this site has been super useful.

I was met with utter silence; nobody uttered a word to me.

I received a call from them about funding for school books, something I supposedly consented to back in February. They claimed to have a recording of our original conversation. When I expressed my confusion and mentioned I had no recollection of such an agreement, they abruptly terminated the call.

I received a phone call suggesting that I had consented to finance some educational books for a charity back in February. When I challenged this assertion, the woman on the line insisted she would retrieve the recording of our initial conversation and get back to me. As of now, it’s October 1st, 2020, and I've yet to hear a peep from them. They were asking for close to £200, which is quite outrageous!
