At the age of 80, I recently found myself in a rather unexpected situation. A few weeks back, a gentleman called me up, extolling the virtues of aloe vera tablets, and I agreed to give a month's supply a go. However, upon their arrival, I was taken aback to discover that they had sent enough for nearly ten months, alongside a hefty invoice for £234.00! Not one to let this matter slide, I promptly sent back the excess, keeping only the month's worth, though it did cost me an additional £4.50 in postage. Since then, I’ve had no further correspondence from them. Regards, E.K. Taylor.

We received a call from this number, and they were incredibly helpful with some health issues we were facing.

My mum got phoned by someone who convinced her to buy a load of Aloe tablets - 12 packs costing nearly £247 - and it was taken right off her bank card. She sent the stuff back but never got any money back and now the phone number they gave doesn’t even work. She’s been tricked by three different nutrition companies and it’s cost her close to £4500, wiping out her savings. We only just found out about all this. It’s awful how these firms target old and vulnerable people. Something really needs to be done to stop this kind of thing happening.

They kept ringing my mum, who’s quite old, and at first said they’d got the wrong number. But then they started talking about her health and somehow managed to convince her to give over her bank info for some aloe vera tablets she never really wanted. I’ve gone ahead and informed Citizens Advice about it.

They rang up my grandad who’s 83, trying to push aloe vera tablets that cost a ridiculous £28. It’s shocking! Then they even had the nerve to ask for his bank details. I’m really determined to find out who these people are and call them out!

My dad got a call from someone named 'Vera' claiming to be from a 'citizens centre', saying they wanted to talk about his health. Since we're waiting on a health referral, he started to chat with her. But then she brought up some kind of health supplement and asked him for his card info. Luckily, he thought it sounded fishy and ended the call straight away.

Got a call today from a polite older gentleman who spoke to my 93 year old mum, telling her her pension had gone up and all they needed was her bank info to sort everything. Luckily, she got suspicious and didn’t give anything away. I’m planning to report it to the police.

My 94 year old mum got a call from this number, they asked for her debit card info but then said they never did. They claimed they were calling to assist with her health issues, but as soon as she said she had none, they just ended the call. When I questioned them about it, they just hung up on me.

My elderly mother, who is 84, got a call from this number on the 17th of July 2015. The caller claimed to be from a health firm and said they would be sending her a sample. Unfortunately, she ended up divulging her banking details over the phone. After she called me, I rushed over to her place. I then dialled the number back and had a chat with a chap who insisted they didn’t ask for any banking information. I firmly instructed him not to send anything, and I promptly blocked the number on her phone. Following that, I contacted her bank to report the matter, and they swiftly blocked her debit card. Fast forward to today, the 19th of July 2015, when I visited her again. She had received a message urging her to get in touch with the bank. We called the fraud department and discovered that this dubious outfit, known as Well Being Ltd, had attempted to withdraw £287 three times and additionally tried to take £120 since last Friday!

My 87-year-old mother received a phone call from this outfit claiming they needed to verify her benefits. They asked her to provide her bank card details, but thankfully she saw through their dubious tactics straight away. When she turned them down, they quickly called back, threatening that her pension would be at risk if she didn’t comply. Fortunately, she’s well aware of the tricks some people play over the phone and firmly refused to share any information. She hung up, much to their dismay.

My elderly mother, who is 84, received a rather concerning phone call from this number on the 17th of July, 2015. The caller claimed to be from a health organisation and promised to send her a sample. Unfortunately, she ended up disclosing her banking information during the conversation. Afterward, she contacted me in a bit of a tizzy, prompting me to rush over to her place. I took it upon myself to call the number directly and spoke to a gentleman who blatantly refuted their practice of collecting bank details. I promptly instructed him not to send anything and made sure to block the number on my mum's phone for good measure. Following this incident, I contacted her bank, explaining the entire situation, and they swiftly blocked her debit card. Fast forward to today, the 19th of July, and upon visiting my mother again, I discovered she had a message from the bank urging her to get in touch. We promptly rang them and were transferred to the fraud department, where we learned that a company named Well Being Ltd had attempted to withdraw three payments of £287.00 and one of £120 since the previous Friday! It turns out this company operates out of unit 209 alongside 18 other firms. Truly alarming!

This number rang me up saying they were an official contractor working with BT, telling me that V24 telecom was about to take control of my phone line and internet. When I said I wasn’t interested, the person got quite aggressive and impolite, so I just hung up. I then got in touch with BT and they said there’s nothing about switching providers on my account. They told me to report it to OFCOM, which I’ve done now.

I got a call from 02033725981 the other day. Nowadays, I just let calls go to voicemail and only call back if the number looks familiar, like mates or family. If it is, I always give them a ring and say sorry for missing their call. These days, there’s just too many scammers ringing up. - The Williams family

A certain phone number has been hounding my elderly mother, who is 80, and they just wouldn’t let up. They managed to persuade her into purchasing some arthritis tablets that were advertised at £19.99. Sadly, instead of the expected amount, they swindled her for a whopping £250 from her bank card. It's absolutely disgraceful! I strongly advise steering clear of this company.

A bloke calling himself Romero (at least that's what my dad reckons) has rung us quite a few times. He pretended to be from Age UK or some medical branch of Age Concern. He even went on about my elderly mum’s health issues and my dad’s medical stuff. At one point, he asked for my dad's bank card info. Thankfully, we didn't give anything away, but he keeps ringing back. I've had a word with him, told him we're not interested, but he just won’t take the hint.

This number called my dad, who’s quite old, and some woman claimed they’d been told he’d had a heart attack and was entitled to £90 compensation. She then started asking for his card info, but he quickly dismissed her. Then she rang again a couple days later, sounding gutted, saying the deadline for the payout was that day.
