Last week, I received a call from a chap who introduced himself as Edward, claiming to be with The Telephone Preference team. He assured me that he could send out a device to curb those pesky nuisance calls and mentioned that they had supposedly contacted all call centres to stem the tide of unwanted calls to my number. I became a bit wary of the whole thing, so I attempted to reach them via phone on two separate occasions. However, each time I was met with nothing but an answering machine!
