Got a call from someone saying they were from EE, saying they were going to disable my 4G SIM. Seemed fishy to me, like a scam or something. Definitely wouldn’t trust it if you get the same!

Got a call from some woman claiming to be Donna, but honestly, sounded like a total con. Definitely didn’t seem legit unless her name was some dodgy kebab shop in disguise. Said she was from O2 but smelled like a scam from a mile away. Proper muppet if you ask me.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from O2, so I decided to ring O2 myself using the official 202 number. They informed me that it was indeed not them attempting to reach out - my account showed no record of any contact. Seems very much like a scam! I’d advise against sharing any personal information with them. Stay vigilant!

Heads up!!! Don’t share any info like your name, email or even the last three digits of your phone number. They could already have some info and try repeating it back to trick you. Just hang up straight away!

Someone rang me claiming to be “John calling from O2.” He told me they were stopping 4g soon and switching everyone’s sim cards to 5g without costing anything, just needed me to verify my email first. When I asked if he was a scammer, he hung up straight away. Sounds like one of those dodgy schemes trying to mess with people about the 3g network shutdown coming up.

On 30th April 2024, I got a call from someone who said they were 'John' from O2!!! claiming that in a couple of days every O2 SIM card would be swapped out and mine would stop working!!! They reckoned they’d send me a new one soon!! Sounds brilliant, right? :)) Of course, I didn’t give any details, told him I thought it was a scam, and ended the call straight away, then blocked the number.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2 asking about my sim card, but it was a total scam. They tried to get me to hand over my details, all dodgy stuff. Watch out for these fakes pretending to be from legit companies!

When I picked up, the bloke immediately started going on about training someone or other. I said hi and he goes, “Hello, it’s John from O2.” I could tell right away he wasn’t legit, so I just kept responding with ‘hello’ over and over to wind him up. He got pretty irate, which was kinda funny. Clearly just another dodgy scam call.

Honestly, it feels like they're having a right laugh at us. Most folks round here these days seem too soft or just not clever enough to stand up to them. I reckon a lot of this mess is on us because we just let it slide and don’t bother pushing back.

Got a phone call claiming to be from 02, they wanted me to verify the last three digits of my phone number, I just told them to tell me instead. Then they asked for my email, which I flat out refused, saying they should already have that info anyway. They went on about how all 4G sims were being switched off this weekend for 5G, asking if I’d got my new sim and if I wanted to keep my old number. Why on earth would anyone not want to keep their number? Total scam if you ask me!

Got a call offering a free upgrade to 5G and they wanted my email to send the link. The website they gave was something like 02upgrades.com instead of the usual o2.co.uk. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

I got a call early on about some free 5G upgrade and they wanted to know if I’d got a new SIM through the post. Told them I wasn’t the account owner and they asked to speak to who it belonged to, so I just handed the phone over and then hung up. I was a bit thrown off since the call woke me up out of nowhere.
