I received a call informing me that I was selected for the final draw of a competition I’d entered through an advertisement on Sky. They mentioned wanting to send me a few items as a benefit for reaching the final stage, but first I’d need to cover the postage fee of £1.99. They then requested my card details. I told them I didn’t have my card on hand, and they kindly offered to get in touch again later. While their manner was courteous, I have to admit that the whole situation feels rather suspicious to me.

I couldn't answer the call in time, so I decided to return the favour by dialling back. The moment I hit the call button, it connected straight away-it didn’t even have a chance to ring through! However, all I could hear on the line was just this eerie silence. I hung up within about ten seconds. I’ll let everyone know if my bill has any unreasonable charges once it arrives.
