Got a call at my job today from someone saying there was an accident involving me, they knew my name but asked me to spell it just to be sure because of data rules. I told them my name but mixed up the letters a bit. They claimed it matched their records. I told them straight up "Don't call me again, you have no real info on me except my number. Call again and I'll be reporting you to the cops!" Then ended the call and blocked their number.

My elderly dad kept getting calls from this number asking for a person who doesn’t even live at his address. When I rang them to sort it out, the guy on the other end was really unpleasant and claimed he worked for something called APPLIANCE CARE. He wouldn’t say much else and just ended the call. Often i just pick up the phone and stay silent, making them end the call - guess they gotta pay for it then! Most times they don’t even say a word.
