I got a ring from that number, someone wanting to chat with my "Case Officer." They were trying to make it seem all proper and stuff. It was one of those recorded calls, and the voice had a really strong American accent. Definitely gonna block it now. I reckon they just generate random numbers till they land on someone. Must cost a fair bit, but they only need a couple of hits to make it worth their while. Really dodgy behaviour if you ask me.

Sounds like a total scam to me, not at all believable. No way HMRC would ever ring you like that.

Some lady called saying there was a case filed against me and told me to ring them on this number. As far as I’m aware, I don’t have any case open against me.

They told me there was an arrest warrant out for me and threatened to take legal steps if I didn’t pay up.
