I got a call from someone claiming to be from HM Customs, sounded like a woman with a strong American accent. She said I had an issue with HMRC and asked me to press 1 to talk to a solicitor, or ring the number she gave me, 01256-400926. Seriously, HMRC never phones out like that, so it’s a dead giveaway it’s a scam.
