Called back +44 20 3334 9812 but no answer. Got a voicemail from someone saying "Officer Jennifer Holmes from the Inland Revenue here, don’t ignore this or there’ll be serious trouble" - sounded like an American voice recording. Blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from what looked like HMRC, but when I tried asking about a company, they just hung up on me. Definitely felt fishy.

Just like the others said, I got a call from an American bloke pretending to be from HMRC. They warned me I’d "face the consequences" if I didn’t ring them back!!! I’ve blocked the number now. I can’t stand these scammers.

I sent the details to HMRC using their phishing email contact. I'm pretty sure HMRC wouldn’t call you with an automated voice message like that.

Got a voicemail a moment ago from some automated voice saying it was the Inland Revenue, warning me I'd 'face serious consequences' if my solicitor didn't get in touch about an urgent issue. I've just gone and blocked the number now.

Got a call early this morning, 8.15am, said it was from HMRC so I rang back. The guy picked up straight away and claimed to be from HMRC. I just told him my name and he somehow pulled up my documents in no time! He then told me there’s some kind of investigation going on against me. Definitely felt dodgy to me.

I received a rather unsettling automated message from a robotic American woman, purporting to represent the HMRC. The voice ominously warned that I would 'suffer the repercussions' unless I or my appointed solicitor returned the call. Quite disconcerting, to say the least!
