020333321953 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 020333321953 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance call originating from an overseas call centre, frequently using Indian-accented callers who claim to represent an accident helpline. Many recipients report being contacted about non-existent car accidents despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service and having ex-directory numbers. Calls often involve silence, hang-ups, or evasive behaviour when questioned about their identity and source. Some callers become abusive or unprofessional when challenged. Attempts to verify the legitimacy of the calls reveal inconsistent or false insurance company details. The calls target both private and business lines and frequently employ automated or random number generation. Blocking technologies and ignoring the calls prove the most effective deterrents, while complaints to official bodies rarely yield results due to the foreign origin of the calls.

Picked up the phone and said hello, but it was completely silent from the other side. No one said a word.

I got a call from 020 333 321 953 the other day, some guy with an Indian accent speaking from what sounded like a chaotic call centre. He was asking about a recent accident I’d been involved in, saying my info had come from my insurance provider. Problem is, my landline is unlisted and when I asked him for the name of his company to report them to the TPS, he just cut me off.

I recently received a rather cheeky call from this number regarding a car crash I supposedly had. Of course, I decided to have a bit of fun with the chap on the line, who had quite a strong Indian accent. I spun a yarn about how there were twelve of us crammed into a vehicle, and I was perched on the roof! After a minute or so of this bizarre exchange, it suddenly clicked for him, and he unleashed a delightful "motherf**ker" at me. I quickly returned the compliment, and then he promptly ended the call. What a laugh!

As the IT technician here at the call centre, I find myself alone on this bank holiday. Out of the blue, three phones started ringing away. I decided to answer one, and I caught a brief snippet of conversation before the line went dead. It felt a bit shady, to be honest-those call centre numbers are hardly the sort you’d discover in any directory!

I've received three calls from this number so far. The details of the first one escape me, but the second conversation was notably disturbing - it revolved around making funeral preparations. Today, I picked up only to encounter some fast talking in what sounded like a foreign accent before they abruptly ended the call. Quite baffling, really!

I tried calling back but it says the number isn’t reachable. Strange!

What a numpty! This person keeps ringing random digits and stays hush-hush. Best to just ignore the call, honestly!

An absolute nincompoop with an Indian accent reading off some sort of script just rang me up, all inquisitive about an accident I supposedly had. The thing is, I don’t drive, I've got no driving licence, and consequently, no insurance whatsoever. It really makes you think-if they can’t even manage to get their database right for who to contact, then the so-called ‘service’ they're peddling has got to be absolute nonsense too!

I've gotten a few calls from this number but every time I pick up there's just silence. When I tried ringing it back, it told me the service isn't active anymore. Quite odd really.

I’ve been inundated with calls from these folks claiming I've been involved in an accident, which simply isn’t true. It's utterly baffling-five calls in just two days! Someone needs to sort this out and put an end to their relentless pestering.

I picked up the call and there was some noise in the background. Then someone coughs and quickly hung up. Sounds like a newbie at pestering people who chickened out. Smart move, honestly.

I picked up the phone and answered, but all I got was a strange buzzing noise. After a couple of moments filled with nothing but silence, the line suddenly went dead, and my phone indicated that the caller had hung up. I'm a bit worried that this might be a sketchy number, especially since when I dialled 1471 to check, it said there was a digit missing. What steps can I take to make sure this doesn’t turn into a hassle for me?

Whenever I receive those phoney accident claims, I’ve got a little tactic of my own. I simply tell them, “I’m an officer with xxx police force. Trust me, if I were involved in any accidents, I wouldn't be behind the wheel of a police vehicle! Now, I’ll be forwarding your number to our fraud unit." Works a charm and sends them packing in no time at all!

My phone rang on the landline today, 28th March, and since my number isn’t listed anywhere, it seemed odd. The person said they wanted to talk about a car accident I supposedly had recently. I told them, in the politest way possible, to kindly go away and leave me be.

Had two calls back-to-back, both claiming they needed to talk about ‘your accident’. When I inquired how they had my name, they stated they got my number ‘from my insurance company’. Curiously, when I pressed them on which company, they mentioned ‘Royal London and Victoria’ - a complete fabrication, as that’s not my insurer at all. Just utter nonsense! How on earth do we put a stop to these blithering fools?

I asked my 14-year-old if she'd been involved in some sort of accident, but she said no. Then the guy started saying she sounded rubbish and kept pressing for her name. My younger daughter came over and asked me to handle it, so I took the phone. The moment I said "This is ... speaking, how can I help?" he just dropped the call. If I ever track him down, he’s gonna get a dose of his own medicine! Total scammer and creep.

I received a phone call from a chap at the Accident Helpline-extremely pleasant sort, I must say. He was quite eager to gather details about my mishap. However, his enthusiasm waned a bit when I mentioned that my incident involved a packed bus, and I might be facing a hefty prison stretch. It’s just infuriating, isn't it? As if my time was of no value! Just to add, we are registered with the Telephone Preference Service. Yet, it seems like some individuals have no scruples at all.

Had a call on my work phone from this number earlier today. As others have mentioned, it’s definitely a scam. It started with a chap speaking in a British accent, repeatedly saying 'hello?' before abruptly switching to an Indian accent and claiming to represent the so-called 'National Accident Helpline'. Had one of those bothersome calls this evening. I share the same plight as many others-my number’s meant to be confidential. A chap once mentioned that these callers receive a “batch” of numbers to ring, spanning, for instance, from 3400 to 3500. It's a bit of a nuisance if your unlisted number happens to fall within that range! As for my response to these intrusions? I keep a personal alarm handy by the phone, and the moment I suspect it’s one of those nuisances, I simply yank the cord out and wedge it onto the mouthpiece of the handset. Typically, they scurry off pretty quickly after that! While caller blocking systems are an option, they often come at a price. My technique, however, brings a certain satisfaction!

I received a call from this number at 18:04 today. Luckily, I was able to post about it on social media thanks to this website. It turned out to be some chap from an Indian call centre, trying to discuss a claim for a car accident. However, when I pressed for more details, he simply hung up!

I just received a rather peculiar call from this number, echoing the experiences shared by others. The caller asserted that I had been involved in a car accident over the past two years. He invoked the Data Protection Act to justify his lack of specific information regarding the incident, and promptly became indignant when I questioned the validity of his claims. I must confess, his self-righteousness riled me up, and I ended up losing my temper and swearing at him a bit. His reply, "get to your bed," was rather funny, I must say!

Today, I received a rather bothersome call from this number concerning some 'car accident'. It seems I’ve been inundated with such calls recently, all about 'accidents' involving motor vehicles. Each time, I promptly ask them to take my number off their list, yet they continue to ignore my requests. It’s infuriating! Every time I’m busy, I have to interrupt whatever I’m doing just to pick up the phone.

I've been bombarded with calls from this Indian bloke for over a week now. He kept pestering me to verify my name and address, and insisted that I get on my computer! Clearly, he was fishing for access to it. So, I turned the tables on him and asked if he knew me well enough to send a letter instead-of course, nothing ever arrived. I made it my mission to keep him yakking away, firing off questions like who he was, what he wanted, and why me, just to draw it out a bit. After a time, he decided to end the call. Oddly enough, the line was crystal clear, which is a rarity for these sorts of nuisance calls!

I received a phone call from an Indian gentleman who claimed to be inquiring about an accident claim, yet he couldn't specify whom he wished to speak to. When I questioned him about his location, I mentioned my preference to have my number on the Telephone Preference Service list. He mentioned that it was an international call, implying there was nothing I could do to prevent his call. Despite my lack of interest, he continued to press on about the accident. It took a rather uncomfortable turn when he began complimenting my voice and inquiring about my thoughts on him, even getting somewhat risqué. It was all quite distasteful, and I decided to end the conversation abruptly. Quite unpleasant.

I've recently been inundated with calls from a bloke with a thick Indian accent, persistently trying to get me to verify my name and address. He even urged me to hop on my computer! It was quite clear he was after a chance to breach my security. So, I thought I'd turn the tables on him. I flatly asked if he knew who I was, suggesting he should send me a proper letter if he had any legitimate business - but, surprise surprise, nothing arrived in the post. Meanwhile, I kept him engaged, asking about his identity, the purpose of his call, and so on, all just to tie up his time. In the end, he abruptly cut off the call. Oddly enough, the line was remarkably crisp and clear, which is quite unusual for those dodgy sales calls, isn't it?

I've always been quite vigilant about safeguarding my phone number, going to great lengths to avoid unsolicited calls, even registering with the Telephone Preference Service back when it first launched. Consequently, I rarely receive cold calls. However, since I started using PlusNet for my broadband and phone services, I’ve seen an alarming uptick in calls from various unfamiliar numbers-this is a significant shift for me. I can't help but think that PlusNet must have shared my number with a multitude of entities. Like many others, the callers seem intent on pressuring me into seeking compensation for a non-existent car accident, often staffed by individuals with such poor English it leaves one questioning if they’re even real. It’s all rather dubious, to say the least.

I've always taken meticulous measures to protect my telephone number, right from the very onset of the TPS registration scheme, so I've avoided those bothersome cold calls. However, since I became a PlusNet customer for my phone and internet services, I've noticed an alarming uptick in unsolicited calls-several from a variety of numbers, which is quite out of the ordinary for me. I can't help but feel that PlusNet is to blame for this, as it seems my number has been handed out to the wrong sorts. Like many others in this position, I’ve been receiving persistent calls claiming I’m entitled to compensation for a car crash I didn’t even experience, from callers whose command of English is so poor it’s hard to tell if I’m speaking to a human or a bot. It’s glaringly evident that the intentions behind these calls are anything but honest.

Echoing what others have mentioned, we’ve had a similar experience in our office with three extensions getting hit one after the other. A chap from India rang up inquiring about a car accident, but I’ve never been involved in such a thing. To make matters worse, my colleague, who doesn’t even possess a driving license, was asked whether she had claimed any compensation as a passenger! It's incredibly frustrating dealing with these calls. I've already blocked a multitude of random callers on my mobile, but now they're intruding on our office lines as well. Surely there must be a method to put an end to this? But considering these calls appear to be routed from outside the UK, I suppose we’re out of luck!

As soon as I answered, I could tell it was one of those Indian call centres, droning on about some ‘accident’ from the past three years. I thought I’d have a bit of fun and pretended to be all chipper and keen about the compensation they were peddling. It was amusing to see him try to figure out my intent, but he quickly cottoned on and started hurling insults before terminating the call. Quite the rarity, as usually these folks completely miss the wry humour we Brits are known for! Fingers crossed it threw him off his stride for a few more calls!

Endless stream of junk calls
Absolutely no response when I try to ring back

I received a rather incomprehensible call today from a foreign number inquiring about a car accident-something I've never been involved in since I don't drive. How on earth can I put an end to these sorts of calls? It feels like I’m inundated with about two or three of them each week! I’ve already signed up for the Telephone Preference Service to try and curb this.

It seems that some company called Talk Talk has somehow got hold of my number, which is rather puzzling since it's solely for my internet connection. I rarely share it with anyone, yet I'm receiving calls from this number constantly. Quite frustrating, to say the least!

I received an unexpected call from an Indian call centre attempting to peddle personal injury claims. I promptly ended the conversation.

We answered the call, but it turned out there was no one there on the other side.

Absolutely not. I had a call from this number, but they just hung up without leaving a message. Very peculiar, if you ask me!

Could anyone shed some light on who this might be?
