On the 20th of July, 2017, around 1:06 PM, I received a call from a rather convincing young chap inquiring about someone named Mrs Simmonds. I informed him that I wasn’t her, but he pressed on, and rather foolishly, I ended up revealing my name. He quickly acknowledged his error and apologised for having misdialled. However, I'm now feeling quite uneasy about the whole exchange, suspecting it might have been a scam of some sort.

Just received a dodgy call from someone claiming, "Oh, we had a chat at your residence last year." Mate, I've only been in this flat for a couple of months! How on earth does that add up?

I received a call on my mobile, but the line went dead after just a single ring. Curiosity got the better of me, so I dialled them back from my landline. They mentioned they were from "Affinity Home Improvements." I've since decided to block the number.
