Totally fake scam, sounds like some dodgy call centre in India sending out thousands of calls daily to folks in the UK. Don’t pick up, block number 1572 straight away, it’s definitely a con. Legit HMRC never calls you, they only get in touch by letter or email, never phone. This dodgy operation has been running since March, and it’s even been warned about in morning papers like the Mail and Express. Be careful and don’t fall for it!

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC and said there was a warrant out for me. They told me if I didn’t hit 1, I’d get arrested. Totally dodgy, obviously didn’t press anything. I’ve also let HMRC know about it!

Got a missed call but no voicemail or anything left. When I called back, all I got was an automated voice saying "Sorry, the system's busy, please call again later". Bit frustrating to say the least.

Received a call 'from HMRC' which seemed suspicious but turned out not to be a scam after all. Thought it was dodgy at first but guess it was legit!

My 90 year old nan got phoned twice today by someone claiming she had a tax lawsuit on her. She ended the call quick, but you can tell it really upset her a bit.

Got yet another call claiming to be from HMRC. They rang me back-to-back three times, I ignored it and then got three voicemail messages all threatening me with prosecution. Blocked the number straight away, but knowing how these scams work, they’ll probably try calling from a new one tomorrow. It’s so annoying! Why is there no way to put an end to this nonsense?

I got a call from 02033228741 claiming they were from HMRC saying I owed taxes dating way back from 1989 till 2017. They threatened that if I didn’t pay straight away, the police would come and cuff me up. I played along and said alright then, let them come. They asked if I really wanted to get arrested, I said sure, go ahead. Then the person said he was sending the police now, and I told him I’d make a cuppa while waiting. After that, they just hung up right away.

This number 02033228741 called my mum, who’s 88, twice over a couple of days, telling her she’d be arrested and her NHS records would be taken off her. I had to explain to her it’s a scam and to just ignore them. She was really upset by it all, poor thing.

Got the usual recorded call about an arrest warrant, press 1 to talk to your case worker. Is it me or do these scams ramp up when Christmas is near, like they’re desperate for cash? Honestly, I just ignore and don’t bother answering.

The Inland Revenue called my nan, who’s 93, and now she’s all shook up and can’t stop worrying. It’s really upset her.

They've rung me up once more, but instead of that slurred drunk bloke’s voice I mentioned before, it was some robotic sounding woman this time, all flat and lifeless. Doesn’t make it any less dodgy tho. Fingers crossed no one falls for it and hits "1" cos I’m guessing that’s how you end up chatting to an actual scammer.

Got a weird robo call with a slurred voice saying my NI number got 'suspended' or something like that, then mentioned a warrant for my arrest? Sounded dodgy to me. They told me to press 1 to handle it, but nah, I didn’t fall for that.

Got called twice in a row, then again later on the same day, definitely a scam, so I just blocked the number and ignored it.

Got a call from some bloke with a really scary tone, claiming he was from the HM Government. Told me my National Insurance number was about to be suspended and there was some warrant out for me. I just hung up straight away, but I worry loads of older folks might fall for it. Honestly, they should make this kind of scam illegal - it’s just not on.

My elderly Dad got a recorded call saying there’s a warrant for his arrest and to press 1 on the landline to get the NI number. I told him it sounded like a scam. They’ve rung him both yesterday and today. I just looked it up on this site and it seems to prove my doubts were right.

Got the exact same prerecorded message again, saying HMRC is after me. They rang my work number first then switched to my mobile, so looks like they're just cycling through every number on the network. Really wish HMRC and BT would work together to stop these annoying calls.

Every day I’m getting calls from this number, telling me there's a warrant for me from HMRC. It’s about time HMRC take this seriously and sort it out fast. This is really upsetting, especially for elderly or vulnerable folks. Somebody needs to fix this situation, please.

This number keeps ringing me multiple times every day, and honestly, it's driving me mad. I've signed up for TPS, but clearly it doesn’t stop these calls at all, same problem with loads of other numbers too. Seriously, someone needs to check into this. It could really upset people who are more vulnerable.

We've got three people here who might pick up the phone, so the caller has no clue who they're actually ringing. What, are they planning to nick all of us? Honestly, it’s about time BT stepped up and sorted out these annoying calls! TalkTalk’s call safe seems to almost kill these nuisances, so why can't the rest of the providers do the same?
