8 yearsI've had a couple of calls from 02033227407. The first time, I was unavailable but they left a message claiming HMRC was about to take legal action over some unpaid taxes. Naturally, I chose not to respond. Then today, on the 15th of January 2019 around three twenty in the afternoon, I received another call. It was a bit peculiar; a foreign-accented person was on the line and insisted I press 1 to continue. He went on to inform me that I had apparently accrued tax debts exceeding £14,000 and that court proceedings were imminent. I mentioned that I had never been informed of such issues before, to which he insisted that HMRC had posted a letter requiring my signature last October, but I had never received it. He offered me a reference number, HM 79082, but I demanded an official letter instead of this ridiculous phone call and hung up on him. The chap was quite rude, admonishing me not to interrupt him while he was speaking.HMRC8 yearsReceived a call from 02033227407 earlier today, which turned out to be a scam pretending to be HMRC. They claimed to be from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, and urged me to press 1 to speak to my 'case officer'. Absolutely baffling!HMRC8 yearsGot a call on my home phone back on 27/02/18 from someone with a strange foreign accent. They wanted to talk to “the computer owner” or something like that. I just told them to buzz off and not ring me anymore.8 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were HMRC about some debt we supposedly owed. Didn’t hang about, just ended the call!HMRC8 yearsGot a call from this number showing as an international dial, they said they were from HMRC but there was loads of background noise making it impossible to hear properly. When I told the person that, they denied any noise, so we asked them to ring back. They did, but the noise was still there, and when we said it again, she actually asked if we were hard of hearing! Then she claimed there was a warrant for my mum under my dad’s initials - yeah right! After we told them once more we couldn’t hear a thing, they just hung up. Definitely dodgy.HMRC8 yearsSome Asian caller tried to get all my elderly mum's info, even asked for her national insurance number! These scumbags just wanna scam old people. Total disgrace.AsiaNational Insurance8 yearsI got a call supposedly from HMRC and pressed 1 as they asked, but now I’m anxious I might have accidentally dialled back some ridiculously expensive number and will get a huge bill.HMRC8 yearsThis morning, just after half nine, I received a call from 02033447348. It was one of those automated messages purporting to be from HMRC, threatening legal action for supposedly unpaid taxes. Strangely, there were no specific names mentioned, which set off alarm bells for me. They urged me to press 1 to chat with my so-called caseworker, but I terminated the call immediately. I genuinely fret for vulnerable individuals who might fall victim to such deceit. It’s appalling how these scammers prey on people’s fears.HMRC8 yearsReceived a call at 16:37 on Saturday, the 24th of February, accompanied by a message stating: "We're notifying you that HMRC is instigating legal action against you.
