The guy then asked if I’d been in an accident in the past three years, and I said no, which is exactly why I want them to stop phoning me. He wanted my phone number, so I gave it to him, but right at the end he asked again if I was sure I hadn’t had an accident. I told him, “I just said no, you’re not listening. If I had been in an accident, I wouldn’t be trying to get money from scammers like you lot.” I made it clear to delete my number and warned that if they call back, I’ll be reporting them. I missed a call on my wife's phone, and I'm absolutely disappointed I wasn't around. I had planned to foolishly indulge them, pretending I'd just had a terrible car accident and engaging them in an elaborate, drawn-out yarn, all the while keeping them occupied for as long as possible. I envisioned spinning a grand tall tale and, when they finally seemed to tire of my ramblings, telling them to shove off! There was this one time I kept a fraudulent Microsoft caller tied up for nearly an hour, advising them on how to fix my "smoking" computer and placing the blame squarely on them for the supposed malfunction. I reckon everyone ought to have a go at winding these scammers up; after all, if they’re glued to you, they’re not bothering someone else for a bit!

Received a call from a youthful-sounding lass who claimed I’d been involved in a car crash. I informed her that this wasn’t the case, to which she adamantly insisted that I had indeed been in an accident, with someone ramming into my vehicle. I’ve rung them loads trying to check, and they said their office is on St Johns Street, London EC1V.
