I just got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, asked if I was Peter Howitt. I told him I wasn’t and then he started being really rude. He also asked if I was the owner or something, and when I wanted to know why he was calling, he just hung up on me. Weird and pretty annoying!

On Friday at about 12:08, got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from TPS, working somewhere in London, and wanted to stop nuisance calls. Problem was, she couldn’t even get my name right. I grilled her with a few questions and told her her call was just another spam one. I even said I don’t mind getting calls like hers. She claimed she’d remove my block on nuisance calls, so I told her to go ahead and then hung up. Before I did, I warned her she was probably trying to scam money from my bank account.

I received a rather dodgy call from a gentleman purporting to be associated with the TPS, claiming he could help block scam calls. It was quite alarming as he had my name, phone number, and even my address! It feels like yet another case of a scammer from a larger organisation misusing our personal information. Things took a turn for the worse when he began probing for card expiry dates under the pretext of verifying direct debits; it struck me as utterly nonsensical, and I promptly ended the call. Got a call from an Indian bloke saying he was from the TPS, offering to block scam calls. He already had my full name, phone number, and address which was a bit creepy. Felt like a scammer pretending to be legit, maybe someone who’s gone off the rails with info from a big firm. For the past week, I've been getting calls from various numbers saying they're from Microsoft about some problem with my PC. The funny thing is, I don’t even have a Windows machine. I had a rather odd phone call today. The caller inquired whether I was inundated with nuisance calls, claiming he could put a stop to them for me. Naturally, I refused to share any such details and decided it was best to end the call right then and there.

When I pressed him for his name and contact number, he responded with, "Alan Thomas - 0203 3183098." Having previously come across information indicating that government bodies only communicate via letter, I decided to terminate the call immediately.

Got a call from a man with a foreign accent claiming to be from HMRC, saying they were looking into some tax fraud involving me. He actually knew my name, which was kinda scary.
