Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent pretending to be from Microsoft, saying there was an issue with my PC. She insisted my landline, which is unlisted and on the TPS, was linked to Microsoft somehow. When I doubted her, she started threatening to block my computer. Proper nasty scammer. Seriously, what’s OFCOM actually doing about these rubbish calls? Feels like absolutely nothing.

When I answered the call, I was greeted by utter silence-no faint hum, no tunes, just a void. I promptly hung up and added the number to my BT blocklist.

Even though I’m on the TPS, I got yet another spam call. The number showed up as possible spam, so I just didn’t pick up. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it now.

Can you pick up my voice? No? Just as I thought - bogus callers!

Sounds like just another sales pitch trying to convince you to replace your old windows and doors with newer models.

He began by asking if I could hear him clearly and then mentioned he was with Windows and Doors. I quickly told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call straight away. A few weeks ago, I got a similar call but on another number, so I’m not falling for it again.

Got a call where the person just asked “can you hear me?” I said yes a few times but then it all went dead quiet. Honestly, I’m kicking myself since I’d just read about this kind of trick happening.

I received a rather peculiar call where he jumped straight in, asking if I could hear him clearly-no greetings or pleasantries at all! Then, suddenly, he just went silent. Quite strange, to say the least!

Got a call from some guy saying he was from Window and Doors scrappage, claiming my postcode was chosen and I was eligible. Sounds like a total scam to me. I just hung up straight away.

Someone just rang me up speaking English, like I’ve seen others mention here. They were talking about windows and doors, but there were strange pauses whenever I replied or asked questions. They also asked, “Can you hear me?” which others have pointed out too. I ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some guy pushing a window scrappage and replacement deal - never come across it before and pretty sure it’s not legit. Blocked his number straight away.

Some bloke called Sam, sounded way too cheerful, trying to tell me about some window and door scrappage deal his firm supposedly had. He didn't know any of my info, so I guess he was just ringing numbers at random. I just hung up pretty quick and didn't bother with it.

Yet another rip-off! Cheers to everyone for the heads up. Why can’t they do more to put an end to these greedy crooks?

I phoned back this number and was greeted by a message saying “TelePro marketing Windows & Doors” just like the call I got. They offered an option 1 where you can put your number on their Do Not Call list. Just a heads up, it might charge you about 16p if you’re calling from a landline.

Got a weird call from 02033180755 the other day. They were asking loads of questions about my house, like who owns it and what type of windows I have. When I tried to find out who it was, all I got was some automated voice that just kept going and wouldn’t hang up. Felt a bit dodgy, like they were trying to record me for some sketchy purpose or something. Not sure if I should report the number or just leave it, but I’ve blocked it now anyway. Cheers for the heads up!

Got a call from some automated voice with a British accent - sounded like a real person at first, but the pauses were weird and it just wouldn’t respond to anything I said. They said they were from “Windows and Doors Limited,” but I couldn’t find any biz by that name anywhere. Pretty sure it’s just a way to drum up sales leads.

There was nothing but silence, followed by a "Can you hear me clearly?" and then - nothing again. Quite the dodgy scheme, if you ask me…

Beware of the Window Replacement & Scrappage Scheme - total scam!

He kicked off with asking if I could hear him, then mentioned he was Sam from some company dealing with window and door replacements. Claimed he knew I owned the house. When I asked him to tell me my name, he went quiet, so I just ended the call. Sounds like the same old scam everyone else is talking about. I've blocked the number now.

I’m looking to get rid of some old windows and buy some special ones that keep the heat in better. Also hoping to recycle the ones I’m replacing, anyone know a good place for that?

Someone called me asking about my home, but when I questioned which property they meant, it was clear they didn’t know my exact address. Then they started quizzing me about my windows - how old they were and if there was any damp or condensation. The phone went oddly quiet for a bit, which set off alarm bells for me. So, I ended the call and blocked the number straight away. Trusting my instincts on this one - whether they’re genuine or not, I wasn’t risking it. Not sure what tag to give this, but I went with Harassing. Hopefully this info helps someone else.

Our Call Guardian stopped the call so I didn’t even answer. We’re on the TPS, but it doesn’t seem to bother these people. Blocked now.
