I received a call where the person on the line wanted me to verify my debit card number and its expiration date by speaking it out loud. I decided to humour them without actually revealing any details. They claimed to represent a service designed to block unwanted calls.

I’ve encountered some dodgy characters claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service, trying to squeeze a few quid out of me to "stop" those pesky nuisance calls. It’s all a scam!

They claimed they could put an end to all those pesky calls, but insisted I verify some of my bank card information first! Apparently, without that, the nuisance calls would just keep coming. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
