Looks like one of those classic scam calls to me. They said they were ringing about some update for my internet security software.

So this morning around 11, I got a ring from 02033074651. When I tried ringing them back, all I got was a quiet “hello”, so I ended the call. Weirdly enough, shortly after, they called me again but this time the number ended in 52 instead. Anyone know who these people might be?

So today, 20th Dec 2021, around 1.15 in the afternoon, I was just updating my internet security stuff when this number 02033 074651 popped up on my phone. They claimed to be from McAfee and said they needed to remotely access my computer to set up their protection software. Felt pretty fishy to me, like a total scam. I didn’t take any chances and just blocked them straight away.

So when I mentioned to the person on the phone, who spoke with an Indian accent, that I'd call back to confirm if they were really from McAfee, they told me this number 02039 508 399. Turns out, that’s actually a landline for TalkTalk, not McAfee at all! Quite fishy if you ask me.
