I received a call from a chap with a rather unusual accent, claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He asked if I fancied signing up my number. I informed him that I’m already on their list. When I previously visited their official site, I was under the impression that once registered, there’s no need to do it again, nor is there any fee involved. Plus, they typically don’t reach out via phone, as that would completely defeat the purpose of signing up! It seems very much like a dodgy scheme to me.
