Some bloke claimed to be from Halifax bank, but he was trying to fish for my personal info. Honestly, his English was awful and I reckon my bank already has everything they need, so why on earth would they be after my card details? Total scam! I've blocked the number and since then, I've had like 19 calls from them trying to get through, all caught by my phone’s call blocker starting from 18th August.

Phone rang quick then cut off, probably one of those scams where if you ring back they hit you with charges.

So some bloke called claiming he was Jack from Carphone Warehouse and then suddenly said he was with the Metropolitan Police. He tried to wind me up with a few cheeky comments, but honestly, it just didn’t bother me at all.

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Cardfone Warehouse, attempting to peddle a SIM-only deal that boasted unlimited calls, data, and texts for just a tenner. Unsurprisingly, I hung up and attempted to ring the number back, only to be greeted with a message stating it was incorrect. The caller then rang me again and explained that the number they had used was solely for outgoing calls and wasn’t set up to receive any incoming ones. This all strikes me as a bit dodgy, and I genuinely believe it’s a scam waiting to happen. I really hope the authorities take a closer look into this matter soon, as it’s likely that someone unsuspecting might fall victim to it.

if no one bothered with cold calls they would probably vanish pretty quick. but since some folks still respond, these calls keep coming. me personally, i ignore them all the time, and any firm that keeps ringing or sending unwanted letters is one i avoid using completely - i've done that a number of times.
