I've been receiving calls two to four times weekly from someone claiming to be with the Ministry of Justice. The person on the other end is quite impolite and speaks with an Indian accent. It’s getting quite bothersome!

I've received numerous calls from this number over the past few months, consistently inquiring about a Mr Cuic (or is it Quig?). The bloke on the other end sounds Indian and is quite lacking in basic courtesy. Despite my repeated explanations that Mr Cuic doesn't reside here, he insists on proceeding with his inquiries. It seems he has some sort of database linking my phone number to Mr Cuic, and clearly, he hasn't the wit to update his records. It genuinely feels like I'm dealing with the same man each time. I'll certainly be just as impolite in response on my next encounter.

For the past year and a half, I’ve been plagued by this annoying caller. An individual of an ethnic background consistently inquires whether I am Mr. Ruddick. No matter how many times I inform him that I’m not, he just doesn’t seem to take the hint! I managed to trace the number by calling 1471, but when I returned the call, I was greeted with a message from the operator stating that I had dialled an incorrect number. Is there any way to put a stop to these persistent calls? Unfortunately, the Telephone Preference Service hasn’t been able to assist me.

I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the incessant calls from this number. Yet again, it seems the trusty TPS is utterly ineffective in tackling this issue. Honestly, what's the purpose of having such an organisation if they're unable to help?

I had a rather dodgy call today where the person on the other end pretended to know me. They claimed they had some funds to return from my bank and went on to list off every bank imaginable, asking me to confirm which one I use-absolute muppets! It’s quite clear their aim is to snag your bank details, so don’t entertain them for a moment-just hang up! And be sure to report the incident. Honestly, are these crooked scammers never going to give it a rest? Disgraceful!

I'm getting this call every single day at the exact same hour. Today, I finally answered, but the line went silent. I’ve decided that if my phone rings at 12:25, I’ll just let it be. It’s becoming incredibly irritating.

I received a call from a UK financial services firm, where they insisted I confirm my identity by providing details from my debit card. They mentioned a cheque that was supposed to be sent to me by the bank. I found the whole situation suspicious and ended the call right away. I’ve since alerted both my bank and the police about the incident.

I received a call that went to voicemail, a bloke on the line with no obvious accent. He repeatedly said 'hello' in a rather cheeky manner, seemingly under the impression that someone had picked up. There was a fair bit of chatter in the background, likely from a call centre, which gave off an Asian vibe. Eventually, he just hung up. The Telephone Preference Service seems a bit useless for these sorts of nuisances - at least it’s a nice break from the usual solar panel sales pitches!

I outright told him to get lost! He had an Indian accent, and honestly, my instinct was to hang up on the call. In my experience, these types of calls usually turn out to be scams. It baffles me how anyone could be so naive as to believe that most of us would fall for such trickery.

I just had a phone call from a chap with an Indian accent using this number. He was pressing me for my bank details, claiming I was entitled to a refund of some bank fees, but when I asked for specifics about which bank, he couldn't provide an answer. Clearly a scam! Just wanted to share this so others don’t get duped.

Received a rather peculiar phone call from this number earlier. The chap on the line had quite a strong foreign accent and claimed to be representing Financial Services UK. He mentioned that he was in the process of sending me a cheque for some unclaimed bank charges. However, he got my address all wrong, and when I refused to verify my details, he told me I could do as I pleased. I'm curious if there's a proper place to raise this issue?

I received a call from this number earlier today. It was an Asian gentleman claiming he had a cheque meant for my mother. I informed him that my mother had passed away and requested he refrain from calling regarding her. To my shock, he retorted with, "Why did you kill her?" which utterly infuriated me. The man even started chuckling at my frustration! I quickly ended the call, only for him to ring me back, asking why I had hung up. Absolutely appalling behaviour!

I received a call at precisely 11:50 AM today, 4th April 2014, but chose not to pick up since only those who really need to contact me have my mobile number. It seems likely it was the same persistent caller from last evening around 5:45 PM. I'm growing weary of these daily interruptions from overseas numbers, particularly those that come up as 'unavailable'.

I received calls from this number for the past two days. The first time, there was complete silence, but the second time, I was met with the classic "we’ve got a refund waiting for you" spiel, and strangely, they mentioned my house number. How on earth did they manage to dig that up? It’s apparent they’re operating from somewhere in Asia, based on the accent, which suggests they're getting their hands on data from some company peddling information. Honestly, if the government can track these calls with the technology they possess, what’s stopping them? Next time, I reckon I’ll engage them in a conversation for as long as I can; it might just be far more entertaining than half the drivel on television these days. Plus, it could prevent them from bothering others who might be genuinely distressed by these sorts of calls.

I've received a similar phone call myself! They had far too much personal information, which made me rather uncomfortable. I mentioned that I would be reaching out to my bank about it, and they abruptly ended the call. My bank suggested that I report this incident to Action Fraud at 0300 123 2040. If everyone takes this step, perhaps we might see some action taken against these sorts of scams!

I was quite alarmed when these individuals were able to rattle off my bank information and even pinpoint my date of birth, not to mention the security code from the back of my card. It's beyond me how they managed to dig that up, particularly considering the address they had for me is from well over a decade ago. The moment I mentioned I’d be reporting them, they just hung up. Quite suspicious, to say the least!

I received a call from this number today at 14:29, just after two earlier calls from 'number withheld' this morning. In all instances, there was absolute silence on the other end before the line cut off. I have a sneaking suspicion that they might be probing to see if anyone is home - perhaps on the lookout for properties where folks are off on their holidays.

I had a call from this number just yesterday. They mentioned that I was owed some money from the Government and that a cheque would be dispatched to me. I didn't stick around for any further details. My spouse received a call from these absolute muppets, claiming she was due a refund for bank charges and that a cheque would be sent. When she inquired about which bank supposedly refunded her, they only kept repeating “your bank,” completely dodging the question. After a bit of back and forth, they turned nasty, hurling insults like “why are you shouting at me, you absolute cow!” This is just not on. It's high time BT put a stop to this number. My wife is currently recuperating from surgery to remove a brain tumour, and we really don’t need this sort of nonsense intruding on our lives.

I received a call from this number - picked up, yet met with silence. They simply disconnected. I have a sneaky suspicion it's the same one that’s bugged me multiple times before, often with no one on the line or, alternatively, a chap with a thick Asian accent trying to babble on endlessly. My schedule's rather tight, so I've never really indulged them, simply stating I'm too busy, but quite frankly, they're just a drain on my time. Yesterday, I received a call from a lady who had quite a pronounced accent typical of South Asia, claiming that I was entitled to some bank reimbursement. However, as soon as I began to probe further with my questions, she abruptly ended the call. I recently had another telephone call from this number on the 27th of March, 2014, around half past one in the afternoon. Despite my numerous pleas for them to cease contacting me, the caller persisted. I mentioned I was recording our chat, and his response was to call me a foolish old man, which suggests he knows me pretty well! In response, I launched into my rather ridiculous "would you like to purchase a goat?" spiel. On a side note, I must say, I was rather taken aback by his command of English - especially when it came to the more colourful language.

I've just received a call from this number, which, funnily enough, isn’t even listed! Honestly, who falls for these dodgy scammers anymore? It's baffling! I'm absolutely fed up with these incessant cold calls I'm receiving. I work night shifts, so I leave my phone on in case my dad needs to reach me in an emergency. On the 25th of March 2014, around a quarter past two in the afternoon, I got a call from the number 02032986629. The chap on the other end had quite a pronounced Indian accent, which made it rather tricky to grasp what he was on about. He claimed to be representing my bank and stated he worked for UK Finance. When he asked me to verify my postcode, I mistakenly told him he had it wrong - he actually didn’t, but since I don’t even hold an account with that particular bank, I figured he was up to no good. Definitely a scammer, if not just a right bind!

I received a call from someone with a heavy Indian accent, claiming to be sorting out a refund for bank overcharges. They proceeded to read out my address and asked me to verify it, then insisted on my date of birth. When I declined to share that information, he began to push back quite aggressively. I ended the call right there-these sorts really ought to be cut off entirely!

As soon as I answered, they cut off the call! I must be quite a fright, it seems...

Received a rather dubious call at my residence today, March 25th, around 10:15 in the morning. The individual on the line had a rather distinct foreign accent and was going on about sending me a refund cheque, insisting I verify my address. When I inquired if they were indeed part of a scam, the line went dead. Clearly, this is a situation that warrants caution. I'd urge anyone else who falls prey to such calls to document them or share their experiences by tracing the number through 1471. Now, a question that's been on my mind: how are the telecommunications companies, who profit from these numbers, tackling the blatant wrongdoing of their subscribers? Surely there must be some kind of oversight in play?

I received a phone call where the chap on the line was seeking to verify my bank account number after he mentioned he only had the final four digits. He went on about having a loyalty cheque ready to be deposited into my account. Oddly enough, when he introduced himself, he claimed I had an account with a bank I’ve never even been associated with! Clearly, these are con artists!

I received a call today on the 24th of March around 2:10 PM from a number claiming we had overpaid for something and they were going to issue us a cheque. My husband struggled to comprehend what they were saying, so he handed them over to me, but then they abruptly cut the line. Clearly, this was nothing more than a scam attempt.

I received a rather dubious call purportedly from the UK Treasury situated in Eastbourne. The caller claimed I was eligible for a refund on bank fees that had been improperly charged and insisted they could send a cheque directly to my home. They proceeded to list my address along with the postcode, but I opted not to affirm or dispute its accuracy. When I inquired about the source of my phone number, the gentleman-who had a pronounced Asian accent-mumbled something incoherent before abruptly terminating the conversation in a rather rude manner. This is a clear scam targeting individuals in light of the latest banking controversies. It’s reminiscent of those infamous Nigerian email scams from years gone by. I sincerely hope the authorities manage to apprehend these fraudsters who are exploiting the unsuspecting public and that they face appropriate repercussions.

I received a call from an Asian woman claiming that I’d paid too much and was owed a refund. She asked to verify my address but then suddenly disconnected the call. Oddly enough, I can’t get through to this number; it doesn’t seem to accept incoming calls at all.

I've been inundated with calls from this particular number day in and day out over the last fortnight. Quite often, they ring multiple times daily. Curiously, whenever I pick up and utter a greeting, they promptly disconnect without a word. It's become rather tiresome!

I received a call from these individuals today, but they quickly terminated the call upon discovering I wasn't the senior citizen they were hoping for. I'm really pleased I took the time to look into that number. I've had to change a couple of phone numbers for elderly family members lately, so it's quite the relief!

I’ve just had a call from this number, a chap claiming to be called Jim - or something along those lines - and he sported an Indian accent. It’s reassuring to think the bank might actually refund me what they’ve wrongfully taken. It’s about time, if you ask me. However, the moment I mentioned that my date of birth is private information, he rather rudely hung up. Seems I’m not getting my money back after all; typical, isn’t it? It’s alarming how these callers appear to know our phone numbers and addresses. I distinctly remember these nuisance calls started when BT decided to outsource their operations to India, yet they don’t seem to have the common sense to put a stop to it. I got a call from this number claiming that my bank was refunding some charges into my account. Curiosity got the better of me, so I asked who was on the line, but they promptly hung up. I tried calling 1474 to trace it, and the number they provided was this one. However, when I pressed option 3, the operator informed me that the number couldn’t be recognised. This isn’t the first time I’ve been bothered by this number, and I'm really hoping it's the last!

On Saturday, the 22nd of March at around half past two in the afternoon, this number rang me. I opted to let it go to voicemail, yet there was no message left. When I tried returning the call, I was greeted by a recorded message stating that there was no response. Quite odd, really!

Received a call on Saturday, 22nd March. The caller sought my wife's name and age, but when she declined to provide that information, he ominously remarked, "That could spell trouble for you." My wife then voiced her disapproval of his behaviour, and moments later, he abruptly ended the call.

Had a call from this number just a moment ago, and the person I spoke to was barely comprehensible. They claimed that I was due a refund for some bank charges and mentioned sending a cheque straight to my address, which they seemed to have correct. Naturally, I expressed my disbelief, and after a few more jumbled utterances, they promptly disconnected. It’s clearly another attempt at a con. I've started keeping a list of such dodgy numbers that I've blocked. Luckily, my phone comes equipped with an answering machine, caller ID, and a feature to block numbers, which I’m using to screen out these scam calls and any other unknowns that fail to leave a message.

This number rang up both my wife and me, claiming that the bank had some funds waiting for me. When I asked them to share their number so I could return the call, the response was utterly appalling-can’t even begin to describe what they said! Eventually, the fool just cut the call.
Do be careful of these numpties!

I received a call today from someone wanting to verify my personal information. They claimed that I was owed some funds by the bank but kept pushing for me to disclose my details. I didn’t share any information but requested that they send me the particulars in writing so I could run it by my solicitor. At that point, they abruptly hung up. The caller had an Asian accent. It’s alarming to think that individuals who are more susceptible could be taken in by this sort of thing.

Received a rather suspicious phone call claiming I was due a refund from NatWest. They had my name and address, which raised alarm bells. The caller then insisted on knowing the first four digits of my bank card. Naturally, I declined to provide that information, and their tone turned quite hostile.

This number keeps ringing me multiple times throughout the day. When I pick up, they just disconnect. As a user of a telephone preference service, I can’t fathom how this number is managing to slip through the cracks. It’s clearly just a pesky nuisance call, or perhaps even something more sinister. What’s going on?

I've received numerous calls claiming that there's a refund waiting for us due to overpaid charges at our bank. It’s rather suspicious, isn’t it? Each time we answer, they become quite confrontational, so we’ve ended up hanging up. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I just had a telephone call from these folks. They appeared to possess details regarding my card, but I refrained from verifying any of it. I received a call from a chap claiming to be from the bank, stating I had a cheque awaiting me. However, he requested my date of birth, which I found rather suspicious. So I inquired about the company he represented, and just like that, he hung up the phone. Dated 15/03/14.

I received a rather irritating call from this number today. I informed the rather pompous chap on the other end that if he dared to ring me again, I'd be reporting him to the ICO for his antics. He had the audacity to shout back at me, insisting that I had no power over him. The conversation revolved around a supposed refund due to being overcharged by my bank, yet he was reluctant to provide any concrete details. Quite the infuriating experience!

I came across this insightful resource about dodgy phone number scams recently, and it's certainly worth a look. The post dives into how these scams operate and offers some solid advice on how to not fall victim to them. It’s alarming how clever some of these tricksters are, using technology to manipulate caller ID. If you’re keen to stay one step ahead of these crooks, I highly recommend checking it out!

I recently received a call from this number. My voicemail picked it up before I could answer, so I used the 1471 service to find out who it was and rang them back. To my surprise, I discovered it was a non-existing number. How on earth do they manage to pull this off?

It's likely a case of "number spoofing", and they may even have managed to mimic your bank's phone number.

I just had an experience like that myself. A rather unpleasant woman on the other end of the line. When I explained that there weren’t any payments I could possibly get back, she dismissed my response, insisting otherwise. It was a bit unsettling as she seemed to already know my name and address, and then she pressed me for my date of birth. When I declined to share it, her insistence became quite aggressive. So, I decided to hang up.

My husband received a call from this number earlier today. Strangely, the caller, a woman with a Chinese accent, was aware of his name and our postcode. She asked him to verify his date of birth, which he wisely declined to do. Then she mentioned they were supposedly looking to refund some interest into his bank account. However, they abruptly ended the call when he turned on the speaker and asked me if I could hear it too. We’ve registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and our number isn’t published anywhere; it’s not even on the electoral roll. Quite suspicious, to say the least!

I just received a rather suspicious call from someone named "George," who had a heavy Asian accent, supposedly from UK Finance services, claiming there was a refund owed to me. He had both my name and address, which he asked me to verify. I kept telling him I couldn’t catch what he was saying, which seemed to annoy him quite a bit. When I pressed for clarification on which company he represented, he merely repeated my address. I told him that couldn’t possibly be right, to which he smugly replied, “Well, you heard that, didn’t you?” He then inquired about my date of birth, and at that point, I decided to cut the conversation short and hang up. Afterward, I looked up the number and found similar experiences shared by others. This really needs to be addressed, especially since I’m currently at home recuperating from heart surgery-definitely not looking to deal with someone like George at this time!

I received a phone call from a gentleman who had a notably strong Indian or Pakistani accent. He came close to pronouncing my surname accurately, but I decided against delving deeper into the conversation because I struggle to comprehend such thick accents. It’s somewhat reassuring to learn that I'm not alone in facing these incessant calls, but honestly, it would be for the best if these operations were shut down.

I've had enough of this number incessantly bothering my elderly mother, who's 88. They keep calling her, claiming she's owed some sort of refund, and they say they're from Age UK, which is absolutely ludicrous. I've confronted them directly and mentioned that I've contacted the police, who are apparently tracing their location and heading over to sort this out. What’s really appalling is that my mother is on the Telephone Preference Service and is ex-directory. It raises serious questions about how these callers acquired her personal information, as they seem to know her name and address entirely too well.
