A young woman with a London accent called and said her name was “Rosie Hunter” but I couldn’t catch the company she was from 'cause I was chuckling! She claimed I’d been in a no-fault accident. I asked, “When exactly did this accident happen?” She paused and then repeated, “What date was the accident?” I replied, “I’m the one asking the questions here, on your dime!” Then she hung up - cheeky Rosie! Number’s blocked now.

I just told them I wasn’t sharing anything and ended the call. It did sound kinda like a really proper English voice but maybe a dodgy line or some robot. A lady with a London accent rang claiming she was from some sort of advisory service and that I’d been in a car crash. When I told her I don’t drive, she just kept saying the same thing so I asked again where she got my number from. Then she just hung up on me - best to steer clear of this one!

They’ve rung me loads but all I get is unavailable or internal. This is the first time they actually left a voicemail. They mentioned something about ‘customs’ and said there’s been a complaint against me from her majesty’s criminal court for tax evasion and avoidance. They want me to call back straight away.

I received a phone call from a chap with an accent that wasn't local, inquiring about a road traffic incident from way back in 2011. He mentioned something about personal compensation and seemed to have a plethora of information regarding the incident. Naturally, I requested a contact number to check out the legitimacy of the company he was representing. I rang the number twice, and both times I was greeted by the same unfamiliar voice asking, “How can I help you?” When I pressed for confirmation of their identity, they promptly hung up! Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Had a call from a woman with an American accent, said her name was Ashley and said she was ringing from Nationwide in Manchester. She gave a callback number as 0203 290 9723, but when I checked with 1471, the number showing up was 01234 945 006. She was asking about someone who supposedly had an accident in the last couple of years, but some of her replies felt weirdly delayed, like maybe it wasn't a proper human on the other end.

I recently received a rather dodgy call from these con artists. When I inquired about the purpose of their call, I was transferred to a chap with a heavy accent whose grasp of English was quite poor. Politely, I requested to speak to someone who could articulate more clearly. I maintained my composure and remained civil, yet I was met with a barrage of expletives aimed at me. To top it off, he accused me of being a sex worker before abruptly hanging up! Rest assured, I will be lodging an official complaint regarding this incident!

I just received a call from a woman who said she was Elizabeth and claimed to be from something called the "National Claims Unit". The number was blocked, which immediately made me suspicious. She had an American accent and told me someone at my address had been involved in some sort of accident in the past two years. She then responded with something like “Oh, that’s good news, I’m glad nobody had an accident”, but I was trying to get a word in to say that no, I hadn’t actually answered her question yet. Instead of letting me speak, she just talked over me until I had to raise my voice, and then suddenly she just hung up. Honestly, it felt like I was dealing with a robot or some sort of automated system, though it could just be that the American accent struck me as a little bit mechanical, coming from a UK perspective.

She claimed to be with the National Claims Unit supposedly based in Manchester and told me I’d been in a car accident in the last couple of years. That caught me off guard as I haven't had any accidents for over a decade. I just got a call like this, even though I never requested the withheld number. The caller, who said her name was Elizabeth, spoke decent English but had an accent that wasn’t local. I just got a ring from someone named Ashley, which matches the info already shared here. The number showed as from London, but she claimed she was calling from Manchester. When I requested where she got the accident details, she only said it came from some Government RTA department - haven’t heard of any such place myself. Seriously, why aren’t these calls banned? Got a call from a woman named Ashley, sounded American, claiming to be from something like the National Advice Bureau. She was asking about some supposed accident. I jotted down what she said (she claimed their main office was in Manchester), then told her my number’s on the TPS list and demanded she remove it from their system. She refused at first, but I insisted she had to by law! After that she softened and agreed, ending with a pretty weak "Have a good day". Honestly, why can’t the government do anything to stop these bloody annoying telemarketers?

She said she got my number from some Road Traffic Accident Dept and that it was about an accident I was supposedly part of. (These calls happen all the time, but from various places.) I echo the sentiments expressed by Jim earlier. Today, I received a call from a woman, who had an unmistakable American twang, representing the Nationwide Advice Bureau. She claimed that someone in my household had suffered an accident within the last couple of years. I made it clear that wasn’t the case and mentioned that we are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). I even warned them that if they rang again, I’d report them. Yet, lo and behold, they rang me again at half six this evening! It appears another cold-calling complaint to the TPS is on the horizon. The number to watch out for is 0203 2909723, and the caller’s name was Ashley.

Got a strange phone call from a young lady with a Commonwealth accent claiming there’d been a car crash I was involved in - which was totally made up. When I told her I was on the TPS and to remove me from her list, she just chuckled. Then I asked to talk to her manager, and guess what? More laughter. I pressed her on where she was calling from; she said Manchester but then gave some London number. Asking again which country she was in got another laugh, and she honestly said she didn’t know. Told her she sounded like she was completely out of it, and yep, she laughed again. Bizarre experience.
