I got a voicemail telling me to ring back ASAP or there’d be legal trouble. The odd thing was, it was a robotic voice and then ended with ‘have a blessed day’! Honestly, it’s the weirdest message I’ve ever had. I can see loads of people falling for this scam. These people are just awful - DON’T bother calling them back; I have a feeling it’ll end up costing you loads! I’ve sent the voicemail over to the HMRC phishing team at [email protected] just in case.

Got a voicemail from a number pretending to be HMRC, warning me about severe legal trouble if I didn’t ring them back. It’s best to just ignore or block this number. Over the past few weeks, I’ve already blocked a couple of numbers with similar messages, all making the same threats. Definitely a scam, so don’t trust any calls from this source.

Got a call from 02032909484 where a person claiming to be Officer Lisa from HMRC said I needed to call back urgently or face "serious consequences". She even ended with a cheerful "have a blessed day!" Bit strange really. This could easily fool someone who hasn’t got a clue that HMRC wouldn’t contact you like that. Watch out folks!

Just missed a call from this number on my phone a minute ago. Got a voicemail from a bloke with a pretty harsh tone and what sounded like an Afro-Caribbean accent, saying he's Officer Eric Foster from HMRC. He warned me it's my final warning to sort out this 'serious issue' or I'll be in deep trouble if I don't ring back straight away. He ended it with 'Have a blessed day.'
