Got a call from this number claiming they had the best mobile contract on any network. They then started asking for my bank details, including sort code, and eventually wanted the full card number and security digits - that set alarm bells ringing straight away. It was pretty clear to me these lot were out to rip people off. They offered an iPhone 11 Pro Max for £25 a month on a 24-month deal with unlimited minutes, which just sounded way too good to be true. While I was still on the phone, they said they’d send an email with an offer supposedly from Carphone Warehouse, using this address: ‭8 Carphonewarehouse, 458 Holloway Road, LONDON, N7 6HT. A quick browse on Google showed that this office has been shut for good. Stay safe, everyone!

They rang me a couple of times and I picked up once. The caller said it was Carphone Warehouse but the line was really scratchy and hard to make out. Then I asked them if they were trying to scam me, and they just put the phone down.

This number called my android on 19/06/2021. I picked up but there was no sound, I was just about to end the call when a flashing green button popped up saying 'boost volume' so I clicked it without thinking, then music started playing down the line. I quickly hung up and blocked the number straight away. I’m a bit worried now cos I’ve never seen that kind of button before. The call lasted 24 seconds in total, with around 10 seconds of music. Anyone knows what that was about?
