My mate got a call from a posh sounding woman saying it was Amazon saying someone bought a phone for £500 on her account. She offered to fix it right away if my mate gave some info. But my mate wasn’t having it and thought it sounded dodgy. So she called Amazon herself and they said it was a proper scam. They’ve sent her a link to report the call. Then, not long after, she got another call from a random number, which I’m gonna check out now.

Some bloke called, laughing and said he was from Amazon, then just hung up on me. I called back with 1471, told him to take me off their list, and he snapped saying he’d ‘remove me from the world’ - didn’t seem like a proper threat though. The number calling me used to belong to my grandma’s landline, and she got caught out by scammers a few times. So now I’m trying to report every dodgy call I get to help stop them. This ‘Amazon’ caller has rung loads of times but it’s definitely not real Amazon, so watch out and don’t fall for it.
