This bloke rang me earlier, not realising I’d already caught on to his scam a few months back. He told me to pick up a 'ukase' cheque from the post office, then someone would turn up at my house to collect the voucher. Obviously, the cheque would be completely useless. I was tempted to let them send someone round just so I could snap a picture of the person and pass it to the coppers. But near the end, I lost my cool and said I’d come all the way to London, where I think the call was from, and give him a good telling off. Unsurprisingly, he hung up pretty sharpish. If you get a call like that, just report it straight to the police.

So my mate got a ring from this number and they told her she was owed a cheque for a PPI refund, even though she’d already been told the claim was rejected. The bloke, Henry, claimed he’d actually handled the claim for her and said the cheque would be sent to her place - on the condition she first sent £500 via cash transfer. Of course, the cheque never actually turned up.

I’ve had about four calls from them today, but the line was really scratchy most of the time. They keep saying they want to send me a cheque for a claim I made about PPI on an old bank loan. Thing is, I’ve already heard back from both the bank and the firm I used to make the claim, and they both said no PPI was ever applied to that loan - which gave me the same gut feeling when this lot said otherwise! It’s strange they’re suddenly trying to send a cheque now. If anyone knows what’s going on, please let me know.

I got a call about a PPI claim and they tried to get me to pay using a UKASH voucher, even though they actually sent me a cheque in the post. It felt really dodgy and not right at all.
