I received a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be part of my bank's fraud investigation unit. They insisted on verifying my account details and urged me to withdraw a hefty sum of cash, all while stressing that it should remain confidential. Apparently, this cash was supposed to be stashed in a secure account, which sounded rather fishy to me. When I probed them for their company registration information, they dodged the question entirely. It’s blatantly clear that these scammers are targeting the elderly and those who may be more susceptible, starting off by alarming them with tales of fraudulent activity on their accounts.
