Heads up to anyone using the post office wifi, theres this scam going around where someone claiming to be Microsoft shows a message saying your PC is hacked. Then they slap a phone number on the screen (02032903367) and tell you to ring them. Dont ever call that number, its a total con and they’ll try to nick your info like passwords and stuff. Stay safe!

From what I found on Malwarebytes site, you should never call the number shown on those pop-up alerts. They’re just a type of nasty adware designed to freak you out and get you to ring a phoney tech support line. Your computer isn’t really broken, it’s just this dodgy pop-up that probably “freezes” your browser so you can’t use it. To clear it, try closing the browser via task manager first. If that doesn't help, you’ll have to force the computer to shut down by holding the power button till it switches off. When I did that and restarted, my PC was fine again.

this call was from someone claiming to be microsoft support. they said they wanted to take over my PC to fix issues, then showed me some passwords they supposedly found compromised. they told me my computer was full of viruses that needed sorting urgently. at first they said the clean-up was free, but then tried to get me to pay for ongoing help. honestly felt daft, usually i’m pretty cautious but they made it sound like my whole system was about to crash.

Got a call from someone claiming they were from Microsoft. They wanted to take over my PC and quickly showed me passwords they supposedly found along with lots of viruses on my system. They said removing the viruses was free but then tried to make me pay for ongoing help. I usually watch out for these things but they freaked me out and made it seem like my computer was completely ruined. Felt pretty daft after realising it was just a scam.

I was just watching a film on my laptop when suddenly a message appeared telling me to ring 02032903357 because my computer had supposedly been hacked and that I had to talk to a Microsoft expert. After a bit, I got suspicious and ended the call. The guy claimed he was calling from Manchester! They somehow managed to get into my computer and viewed all my passwords. Total scammers. I've reported it to the police already.

Had a dodgy pop-up on my screen the other day, saying my computer was full of viruses and hackers were trying to get in. It had a number to call for "tech support" but it was all a trick to scare folks into paying for stuff they didn’t actually need. Classic tech support scam trying to get at your cash. Watch out for that!

I was just using Couch Tuner when one of those pop ups appeared, but this time it was pretending to be from Microsoft. It wanted me to enter my login info to "verify" me, and then told me to ring the number shown on the screen (which is this one). Obviously a total scam - Microsoft never asks you to share personal details or call a number like that before trying to fix things or closing the error message. Totally dodgy.

Someone just called me claiming to be from Microsoft 7, seemed fishy to me. Not sure what their angle was but sounded dodgy right from the start. Definitely didn’t sound legit.
