Got a call the other day but didn’t answer at first. Later I heard a voicemail from a woman, said her name was Claire Williams. She told me I had to get in touch with her or a solicitor, otherwise I’d be in trouble with HMRC. Thought it sounded dodgy, so I looked up the number before doing anything. Really glad I did, felt way too fishy to be legit.

This reminded me of the last couple of posts about Claire Williams and those scary calls. They said something about serious consequences if you didn’t do what they asked. Lucky I looked up the number first as it did sound a bit too menacing, but you can’t be too careful. The number was 0203 290 2442. Really appreciate this thread for sharing info!

I looked into it and contacted HMRC, they said they don’t need to get in touch with me at all. This is definitely a scam. I’ve reported it on Action Fraud’s website, but I guess that won’t stop them from using different phone numbers.

Had a call a moment ago from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from HMRC. He started banging on about legal trouble and told me to have my solicitor on standby. When I asked what it was all about, he just couldn’t give me a straight answer. Definitely a dodgy scam!

Got a call earlier claiming to be from hmrc, left a voicemail with threats and all. So I rang back, right? Some bloke told me I had just an hour to respond. I told him I was busy working - what a load of rubbish, proper muppets!

I got a call from someone saying I owed £4800 and if I didn’t pay it all, I’d be arrested. I kept them on the line for 47 minutes pretending to be worried. They didn’t ask for card info, just bank details. It’s just a scam to steal from people, so waste their time and don’t fall for it!
