If you get a text saying it’s from HMRC about some tax refund, don’t respond or give out your bank info. Also, don’t click on any links they send you, it’s best to just ignore it.

Ha, seriously, who’d be daft enough to believe that rubbish? It really shows the kind of mindset these people have. When I answered, I just told them the taxman’s gonna get it hard, straight up the backside. They hung up right away, haha. Bloody scammers, honestly.

Got one of those typical HMRC calls again, where they threaten you - really awful how it could scare older or more vulnerable folks. I’ve handed it over to OFCOM, but honestly, not sure if they’ll sort anything out.

This has to be a scam. Normally HMRC calls are quite formal, but this one was just ridiculous. Ignored it, blocked the number, and went to make myself a cuppa.

I got a rather dodgy recorded call that claimed to be from HMRC, stating it was urgent and demanded my immediate response! They even implied that failure to comply would lead to legal action! Curious, I decided to ring back the number, only to be greeted by a chap with a strong accent who hung up on me without a second thought! I've now added that number to my blocked list.

This is definitely a scam, no doubt about it. I've found the best way to handle these calls is by reporting them straight to the ICO site. I make sure to do that every time I get one of these scam calls. Just head over to ico.org.uk and report it.

I got this weird automated text that said it was from HMRD or something like that. The message looked really official but felt off, like maybe a scam or spam. Just thought I’d warn others to be careful if you get the same kind of message. It didn’t ask for much, just some info, but it seemed dodgy to me.

Got a recorded voice from someone calling themselves Janice Chan at HMRC. The message was already halfway through by the time my voicemail picked it up. It was one of those threats about a serious legal issue, telling you not to ignore it or else there’d be legal trouble, and some rubbish about “take care” at the end. Total SCAM. Have blocked the number on my Android now.

02032901682 left a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC telling me to call back - what a joke. Nice try, but no way! I can see how some folks might be fooled though. They even ended the message with "And take care" - as if that makes it legit. Total scam, stay safe everyone!

I just got a call from these guys and they left a voicemail with some automated message. It sounded pretty dodgy, but thankfully they didn't ask for any personal details or mention anything like my tax ID. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

Same thing happened to me around 10:35 this morning. If you ring from a blocked number they just cut you off, but when I tried from my mobile, they picked up. I asked to speak with "Dennis Gray" like the voicemail said, and some bloke with an accent said he’d put me through to "her" straight away. When I asked who "her" was, he quickly hung up after realising he'd let something slip. Was really hoping for a laugh with them, but no luck this time.

I didn’t pick up, but they dropped a robotic message on my voicemail, claiming to be from HM Customs and Revenue. They said it was 'urgent' and that I either needed to ring them back or get my solicitor involved. The bit that cracked me up was when they warned me about ‘facing the consequences’ if I didn’t return the call! Classic scare tactic! I bet some folks might actually get worried by that nonsense!
