A guy with a posh foreign accent claimed he was from a computer firm and offered to fix my computer for free. I'd had my PC cleaned up by a legit company back in 2016, so I suspect he got my info from somewhere linked to that. I told him no thanks and hung up straight away.

I've told them over and over (a) he's no longer alive so can't answer, and (b) this place is a private home now, not some company. The Indian gentleman on the phone doesn't seem to get it at all. Bet we’ll get the same call yet again tomorrow.

Its really worrying how these scammers manage to know details about your current utility deals (for business accounts, not personal). I wonder where they’re getting this info from? It’s a bit suspicious that so many of these calls come from asian callers who use very English-sounding names. I’m not being racist or anything, but maybe its time for people from asia to reconsider their ethics considering how dishonest many of these calls are.

THIS IS A SALES AGENT TRYING TO DRUM UP BUSINESS!! I got talking to someone who said his name was Sammy and claimed to be with British Gas. He kept asking me loads of questions, stuff that anyone actually working for BG would already know. He was really pushy and kept talking over me. I told him I’d ring back using the number on my renewal letter. He said that was fine and that he’d speak to me shortly. So I called the BG renewal team and they told me there’s no one by that name there and they don’t call customers to talk about renewals.

I told him to buzz off but he kept going, so I called him a muppet. He shot back with “maybe you’re the muppet,” to which I said if I were, I wouldn’t be wasting my time on his rubbish job. He then called me a knobhead, which honestly made me chuckle - calling someone like that when you're supposed to be working isn’t exactly professional. In the end, he just hung up. Honestly, it was quite entertaining!

Got a call from an Asian woman saying she was with Scottish Power regarding my contract renewal. I told her I was suspicious, but then she gave me the exact date my contract was due to renew, and asked me to confirm it.
