I got a call from a robotic lady saying she was from the ‘inland revenue’ and that if I didn’t ring a certain number straight away, I’d be facing legal action. Thought it sounded dodgy, so I didn’t bother returning the call and just went ahead and blocked the number.

18/09/19 Got a ring from 02032900560 and they left a voicemail with some robotic woman’s voice saying it was HMRC. They were all threatening, saying I owed some money and had to get back to them ASAP. When I tried calling them back, the line just wouldn’t go through. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

So I got a call earlier today and they were firing off all kinds of strange questions just like mentioned up there. Definitely not legit. They said something about letters being sent back to them in the post. It’s all rubbish, don’t fall for it or hand over any cash. Who’d actually sort out a court thing just over the phone anyway?

This number just rang me and even left a voicemail. They said HMRC only contacts by letter if there’s something wrong. Definitely don’t pick up!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC, saying I owed them money. I wasn't having any of it, gave them my tax reference and company details just to see how far they'd go. Ended up winding him up with a load of nonsense about his family history. Proper laugh that was!

Got a call from what sounded like a robotic female saying she was from HMRC, telling me I'd regret it if I or my lawyer didn't call them back. At first, I was quite taken aback, but then I quickly realised it was a scam. Honestly, you need to be extremely careful with these kind of calls.

What a bunch of muppets! I got a call supposedly from HMRC warning me about legal action unless I ring back some woman. For starters, any real government official wouldn’t leave such a rude and threatening message on my voicemail. And seriously, get your English right before trying to con people here in the UK, you nasty scammers. Watch out, folks!

I had a call not long ago from someone saying they were from HMRC (total scam). Didn’t give them any details since they seemed really dodgy. They left a voicemail that was pretty rude and sounded threatening. Best thing to do is just ignore and hang up straight away.

So, yesterday morning I got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, threatening me with court and criminal charges over some supposed unpaid taxes. When I tried to ask for more details and why I never got any official letters, the caller abruptly got nasty and hung up on me. I've since reached out to the real HMRC to report it, passed on the name and address they gave me to check it out.

I've had the exact same thing, they used my name and spoke with a strange accent. Reported it to the police in Cardiff, definitely scammers. HMRC pretend to be legit but watch out!

Got a voicemail the other day that was oddly aggressive, said it was from HMRC, just like some others have mentioned here. Proper intimidating stuff, left me a bit shaken!

Complete scam alert! They kept pushing for money and started threatening to call the police and have you arrested. These scammers are seriously hostile and pushy. I really sympathise with anyone who falls into their trap - they’re total con artists trying to rip you off.

Someone just rang me pretending to be from HMRC, trying to scare me about some tax issue. Seemed like a classic scam to me, so I just hung up straight away. Watch out, these kinds of calls are getting more common!

Got a call from this number twice last week, sounded like someone trying to sell me something but switched off when I asked who they were. Pretty sure it's just another telemarketer. Would be better if they just left a message or something rather than ring and hang up. Not keen on unknown calls like this.

I got a call saying it was from HMRC, saying I must call them back or I'll face legal action. I asked why they were calling from a random number instead of an official HMRC line, since I used to work there (which I actually don’t). The lady claimed they use different numbers all the time. So I told them they were nothing but scammers and the call got cut off. When I tried calling back, they just hung up on me again. Total scam, watch out everyone!

So I got a call claiming to be from HMRC threatening legal action if I didn’t call them back. But I asked why they were using a random number instead of the official HMRC line, since I’ve dealt with them before (well, actually, I haven’t). They said they use different numbers, which sounded fishy to me. Told them straight up they were scammers and they just hung up. Tried calling back but they kept cutting me off. Definitely a massive con.

So this number said they were from the tax office and asked me or my lawyer to ring them straight away, saying it was urgent or something. Didn't seem right to me, so I just ended the call there. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Received a call from this number, but they hung up without leaving a message. Quite curious, really!
