A mate of mine got a call like this recently. They said there was a warrant out for her arrest and told her to call a certain number. Proper terrifying scam, that.

This was completely dodgy. They said they were from HMRC, but it was obvious they were using some kind of automated voice, sounded like a robot.

I got a recorded call claiming to be from HMRC, saying there’s a court case against me and that I have a warrant out for my arrest. They read out a warrant number and asked me to call a specific number to talk to HMRC. They finished up by saying don’t ignore this. Honestly, it was pretty scary.

0203290016 Got a recorded message saying it was from HMRC with a warrant out for me. They gave a ‘warrant number’ and told me to call back that exact number. Complete con, obviously no way HMRC or the cops would get in touch like this. Might frighten elderly or vulnerable folks though. Total scam.

This was a really nasty scam. They said there’s a warrant out for my arrest and even gave me some kind of order number. It genuinely freaked me out.
