Got a couple of calls claiming to be from HMRC, one was from this number and the other from 1273931005. They told me there’s a serious legal case against me, didn’t even mention my name, just said it’s going straight for execution. They sounded really serious at first and it was proper stressful, but then they finished the call with ‘you are blessed’ which felt odd. We’ve not had any official letters or anything, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam.

My mum, who is 86, got a phone call from 02032900016. The person claimed to be the police and told her someone had complained about her. She hung up straight away but it really shook her up. Got a robotic message claiming to be from the police saying I was under arrest over some HMRC issue. They rattled off a case number fast and insisted I call them back, which I did, using the 1471 check right after. Completely absurd and obviously some dodgy scam. They really ought to be locked up. It’s disgusting how they target people who might be more easily fooled. Real cops don’t just arrest anyone who answers their phone like that.

Total scam, don’t even bother picking up. I got a call claiming there was some issue with HMRC about me, but as soon as I asked questions, the line went dead. Blocked the number straight away and reported it to Action Fraud. Apparently, this number keeps popping up with various scams - they pretend they can sort your IT, computer issues or tax trouble. Got a call from someone claiming to be "The Police" telling me HMRC have issued a warrant for my arrest and I’d better ring them back and settle a fine ASAP or else. After 22 years working alongside the local police myself, I know for a fact they don’t pass on messages for HMRC like that - they can handle their own business without needing to bother people by phone. I got a call "from the Police" telling me HMRC had an arrest warrant out for me and that I needed to phone them back and settle a fine before they come and arrest me! Having been a local bobby for over two decades, I know for a fact the Police don’t pass on messages like that for HMRC - they always handle their own business.
