I received a phone call from someone named Alex Morris, who claimed to be contacting me regarding a loan my late husband supposedly had, under reference AM 1551. He mentioned that a cheque for £1720.00 was supposedly on its way to me, albeit in my husband’s name, although he assured me it would be reissued in my name. Apparently, the cheque was to be dispatched via Royal Mail, and once I deposited it, I was instructed to send them £100 through a Google Play Gift Card. Frankly, it all sounded highly dubious to me, so I politely declined and ended the conversation.
