Got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent, saying he was from BT's tech support. He told me there were unauthorised devices linked to my computer and offered to sort it out. When I asked for his contact number, he gave me this very one. He then told me to hit the Windows key and R together. I suspected straight away it was dodgy, but I decided to humour him until he worked out I actually knew a lot more about computers than him - then he just dropped the call.

Got a call earlier claiming to be from Openreach at British Telecom saying my internet had been hacked. I asked for his number and he said his name was Alex Johnson, but he had quite a strong Asian accent. I just ended the call, but a 1471 check showed the number as 02130979980. Honestly, it’s frustrating how BT seems to let dodgy callers use their landlines without properly verifying them. Considering all these suspicious landline calls we’re getting, it’s like BT’s coughing up numbers to scammers! The only thing that’s actually been compromised is my unlisted phone number.

I just let the Asian lady ramble on, though it was a right waste of time and I soon got fed up. A woman rang me up, presenting herself as a representative from a law firm's accident investigation team. I informed her that she had no authority to request my personal details over the phone, at which point she abruptly ended the call. It begs the question: how are these companies still permitted to function?

Rang me today, 9th Nov, between 4pm and 5pm. I picked up but had to ask him three times what his name was and where he was calling from 'cos his accent was hard to get and there was loads of noise from a call centre. Got a call from some Indian call centre saying they were from the Attorney General’s Accident Claims Department. Didn’t really sound right, so I just hung up and made sure to block the number straight away.

My missus got really worried when the caller spoke about an accident, something about a big crash in India. She was proper confused and tried ringing me straight away, convinced I’d been in some sort of accident. We’re on the TPS list, so it’s annoying these dodgy calls keep coming through. Wish they’d just leave us alone.

got a call this afternoon around half past three from an asian lady claiming to be from the accident dept of some place called HHH or something. at first, i thought it might be the hospital cos my daughter’s abroad, and i was worried. when i asked her to repeat who she was, she said something like “bbi solicitors london.” i told her i hadn’t been in any accident and wanted no more calls from them, then hung up straight away.

Some dodgy people ringing up, trying to say there was a car crash and we’ll get into trouble if we don’t report it through them. They say we need to hire them to avoid prosecution. What a joke.

Just got a call from 0203 289 4455 about some accident. I recently changed my address and this is a new landline, so looks like someone passed on my new number. I’m on the telephone preference service as well. The bloke on the phone was pretty rude too.

This number keeps ringing me up, claiming I've had a car accident. Whenever I tell them I haven't, they ask if I'm certain. The caller is a bloke with an Indian accent. I always just hang up, yet they call again another time. It's really annoying.

Got a call today from some law firm called JDLaw or something like that, strong South Asian accent, sounded like a call centre for sure. They started asking about an accident supposedly in the past two years - total rubbish, I haven’t had any accidents at all!

this number phoned me saying someone linked to my phone had been in an accident within the past 3 years. i quickly answered no, that didn’t happen, and ended the call. they havnt rung me back yet. fingers crossed it stays that way.
