I got a call from Melbourne, Australia, and the person said they were some Microsoft tech support. They told me to switch off my Xbox for about 30 minutes and if I see the virus warning again, to ring them straight back. Bit suspicious, no?

Seems like those Microsoft tech support scams have made their way over to Australia now, caught a few people off guard here.

I had a really bad experience with some scammers acting like they were from Microsoft. They somehow infected my laptop with a trojan and then blasted out a message on my screen, speaking to me and showing text, telling me to ring them up. They said they’d fix the trojan but wanted me to pay for it. Totally dodgy!
