I got a call from someone claiming to be from Garmin support, but they were really pushy and tried to get into my PC. They were quite rude too, which made it even sketchier. Definitely seemed dodgy to me!

Someone called pretending to be from Canon printer support. They asked if they could access my computer, which felt dodgy. Suddenly the call dropped, but then they phoned again claiming there was a Trojan virus on my system. Next thing I knew, they were hassling me for hundreds of pounds to fix it and push me into signing up for a yearly firewall subscription. Proper scam!

I reckoned I was chatting with Garmin tech support, and they mentioned they’d ring me back. Turns out, it wasn't really Garmin - they tried to get access to my PC through some Zoho link in an email. I ended the call as soon as I told them I wasn’t comfortable with it! Watch out for this scam.

Beware of calls from 02032890546 and 01622370603 - they’re trying to scam people claiming to offer Garmin updates. Don’t fall for it!

An older family member ended up typing a phone number into a pop-up while trying to get Garmin help. They got convinced to download Zoho Assist so someone could control their PC. I’m not totally sure what was done, but then they asked for £99 to "repair system errors". I've checked the computer for any viruses or malware since then, and it looks clean. It's really upsetting that stuff like this happens, especially to someone who’s so vulnerable.

I got a call from 020 3289 0546 after visiting the ‘Garmin’ site to update my chart plotter. The person said they could assist me with the update installation. When they asked for my date of birth, I refused to share any personal details. They just said “alright” and ended the call.

I found what looked like a Garmin map update site, but I reckon it’s a scam. Put in my first name, phone number, email and Garmin model, then just after that, I got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent asking what help I needed. When I asked about how to do the update myself, he couldn’t explain it. Then he wanted me to link my computer to his server so he could do it for me. I said no way and he just cut the call. I’ve since blocked the number 02032890546.

Some guy rang me saying he was from Garmin Sport or something like that. Sounded dodgy to me. I didn’t bother giving him any info. Felt like a scam call for sure. Just ignored it after that.

I had troubles downloading maps for my Garmin, so they sent someone from their support team to ring me. The bloke was really impolite and came across more like a scammer than genuine help. When I asked why he wanted remote access to my device, he just ended the call without explaining.

I almost got caught out by a call from someone pretending to be Garmin Maps support. They said my computer had a trojan virus and tried to get me to pay £199.99 for a year of help to fix it. Luckily, I just ended the call.

Don't fall for this guy with the Indian accent claiming he's from Garmin support. If you enter your info on a Garmin-related site, he somehow gets hold of it, rings you up straight away and even emails you. He asked me for remote access to my computer, which I refused, and then he just hung up saying bye. If he was legit Garmin, I'm sure he'd try other ways to sort your problem instead of pushing for control. Honestly, that number seems really dodgy!

Then he said fixing it would cost me £150. When I said no thanks, he just hung up straight away. The number he called from was 01622370603.
