It is strongly advised not to engage, disclose information, or send payments, and to report these incidents to relevant authorities.

I received a call from a woman named Anisa Abbi, who stated that Lloyds Bank was supposed to give me £3000. However, she insisted that I first purchase a Google Play card worth £150. She claimed to be affiliated with the FCA Claims Regulation & Management Department, supposedly representing the government. Apparently, there’s a chap who's scheduled to deliver a cheque to my front door sometime between 1pm and 3pm today. Honestly, they must reckon I’ve just taken a ride down the Mersey on the last boat! I do hope he shows up, as it would be a real laugh for him to waste his time and their funds!

Got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from the FCA. He told me I'd been overcharged with bank fees and that I was due a refund of £3,000. When I mentioned that I actually work for the FCA, he quickly accused me of breaking the law by pretending to be part of a government agency, which I obviously wasn’t. I told him if he really had my info, he could just send the money, but I wasn’t giving him anything. Then he hung up.

My nan got a call from an Asian bloke claiming she was due some money, but she had to send a cheque first. She went ahead and did it, luckily her bank acted fast and stopped the payment. The man told her to keep it a secret from the rest of us. He kept ringing her every day till she finally opened up. If the bank hadn’t stepped in, she’d have lost everything. I’ve now disconnected her landline to stop him bothering her. Just watch out for these scammers targeting older folk who live alone. Total con artists!

This lady called Aneesa Abda and claimed she worked for the FCA, saying I was owed £3000. She said someone would come to my house and all I needed to do was prove who I was and hand over a £150 Google Play card as "tax". When I asked how I was supposed to get the card since I live out in a village, she told me there’s a CO-OP just 0.226 miles away (which is true). She also said I had to sign some papers. I know if there was any money owed from PIP, it’d be closer to £600, so this sounds like a total scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the FCA, and asked for my father-in-law. Thing is, he passed away last November. I told her she should be ashamed of what she's doing, but they just don't care, they're all dodgy. After that I just ended the call. I marked it as harassing because it could be really harmful if someone more trusting answered.

I got a call from a man with an Indian accent saying he was from the Government and that I was owed a refund for bank fees I'd paid over time. I asked him which bank he was talking about since I never applied for anything like that. He then asked if I wanted the money paid straight into my account or if it should be sent to my home. When I pressed him on where he’d gotten my details from, he started getting quite rude and just kept insisting he was with the Government.

Got a call from someone who said his name was Dev Jumar, sounded like he was from India. He pretended to be from the Financial Conduct Authority and said I was due £3,000 from a bungled PPI claim. Because I know a bit about the FCA, I asked which branch he was calling from and he gave me the right address. I asked for an email with all the info but never got one. They claimed I was due a refund from the bank and that someone would come round with papers to confirm my identity before handing over a £3,000 cheque. This sounded familiar because I’d had the exact same chat with them a while back. I told him I wasn’t daft - the bank would’ve just credited the money straight to my account if it were true. But he kept pushing. Eventually, I told him to send me something in writing first, then maybe I’d entertain the idea of seeing anyone. Yeah, right. I just don’t get why the regulators can’t just block these bogus numbers straight away! Honestly, someone should track down these fraudsters and sort them out for good!

I got a call from a woman using the name Anista Abdi, calling from 02032878318. She claimed to be with something called Claims Regulator & Management of FCA. She told me they were sending a cheque for £3000 as a bank refund. Then she said this lady, Julie Shaw, would personally bring it to my house. I said that sounds alright. After that, she mentioned I’d have to pay a £150 tax once I got the cheque. I agreed, but then she just ended the call. I looked it up and it turns out it’s a bank scam - nothing official from the FCA.

Got a call from some Asian bloke named Adam claiming to be with FCA or something like that. Said a government lawyer was sending me £3000, but I needed to sort out tax on a Google card first? Bit fishy if you ask me.

I got a call from a woman who said someone’s coming with a cheque for £3000, but I’d have to pay tax first. Same number has rang me a few times before but when I picked up, nobody spoke. Seems like a total scam to me!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from the Financial Conduct Authority. He claimed we could get £3000 back because our bank had overcharged us. He asked if we preferred the refund paid directly into our account or sent by cheque. We said cheque. He mentioned a solicitor would contact us the same day to sort out a hand delivery to our home. At no point did he request any bank info. I checked with the FCA afterwards and they said it’s totally a scam.

Got a call from a woman, Jennifer, who spoke with an Indian accent. She claimed my bank owed me some fees back. She already had my name and address but asked me for my date of birth. I told her if she had my address, she could just send the payment straight away, but she insisted on my DOB. I said I wasn’t familiar with her company and suspected it was a phishing scam. After that, she just said thanks and ended the call.

The phone only went for a short while then it just cut off. For those scam or sales calls, I usually just tell them I’m not interested and hang up. They end up just talking to themselves after that. It’s what works for me every time.

This bloke called James, with an Indian surname, said he was from some UK claims advisor group. He mentioned cheque number 99007003 and claimed a bank had overcharged me, so they owed me cash. Sounded like a total con to me, honestly!

This morning, I received a call from 02032878318, with the caller asserting that I was entitled to a refund of £3000. I quickly hung up since I've come across numerous warnings about this number on various platforms, all pointing to it being part of a banking scam. I urge everyone to stay vigilant and refrain from sharing any banking information with them.

Got a call from a woman who said her name was something like Alicia Addi, not quite sure cause of her accent. She said she was with the FCA Claims Regulation team and that they owed me £3,000 for some bank overcharge, but when I asked which bank, she dodged the question. She mentioned sending a solicitor called Mr Palski to deliver a cheque, but before that, I’d have to pay 5% tax through some card system I’d never come across. She already knew my name, postcode and house number though. Total rubbish if you ask me!!

Got a strange call the other day, took ages before anyone said anything. Then this lady with a really strong Asian accent asked if I was someone whose name I didn’t know. I told her I reckoned she had the wrong number. She repeated the name and even spelled it out, then asked if my postcode was *******. I said no and hung up. No clue what she was after, but seeing all the other comments, sounds like one of those scams.

Monica Patel rang me claiming I was owed £3000 due to bank overcharges. She told me I needed to purchase a £150 Google Play card and pass the code to the guy who would bring the cheque. Monica gave me two numbers to verify things: 02032878318, said to be the Financial Claims Authority, and 03333034194 in case I wanted to contact her again. Felt fishy to me.

Loads of people have mentioned this too - some woman with an Indian accent rang me up and called me by my name. She said I’d won a court case and was entitled to £3000 in compensation, but I’d have to pay a £100 fee first and send over photo ID. When I said I didn’t care about the money ’cause I hadn’t really lost anything, she didn’t seem to get it. She kept going on about being from official groups like the Financial Conduct Authority, but then just cut me off.

Some bloke with an Asian accent, called Roy or something, rang me up claiming I was owed a refund because the bank supposedly took standing orders it shouldn’t have. Normally I’d mess about with these sorts, but when I asked him to post me a cheque, he said he’d have to get a solicitor from nearby to deliver it in person. Absolutely no chance I’d let that happen. Honestly, that was the creepiest call I’ve had so far. I’ve definitely learnt my lesson now - best to just hang up and not engage at all.

Ignore those calls claiming you have £3000 waiting for you. I’ve had this Monica person ring me up four times with the same rubbish. On the fourth call in just three days, I just told her to quit bothering me since I wasn’t interested and then I ended the call.

I got a call from an Indian-sounding woman on 02032878318 who rang me about four times in like five minutes, asking for my dad and saying he was owed £33k from some court case. I told her that only I could talk, not him, and then she started saying I was being rude when I kept asking why she was bothering us and if she was trying to take his money. I told her to buzz off, using less polite language! She rang again though, so on the fourth call I just ended it right away.

Got a call from some bloke who said his name was Smith, sounded Asian, maybe Indian. He claimed he worked for the FCA, saying I was due £3000 because of bank overcharges. He even said he'd send a lawyer round tomorrow with a cheque for the money. I decided to ring up the FCA on their official freephone to check, gave them the number he called from, 02032878318, and they told me it’s not a number they use. Pretty sure it’s a scam.
