Got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky, telling me my IP got hacked and wanted me to give them my IP details. They was really pushy and rude, kept demanding info. I asked them nicely to send me a letter or an email so I could check their identity, but they just kept insisting on getting my IP. When I asked for a number to call back on, surprise surprise, it wasn’t Sky’s actual customer service. Best to avoid speaking to them altogether.

This morning, someone pretending to be from BT rang me from 01282664161 saying there was a problem with my computer’s security. I was suspicious straight away. He gave me an employee ID and a case number to back up his story. Then he told me to ring "BT" on 02032876026 from my mobile to confirm his info, but I didn’t bother calling. Instead, I kept him on the line on the landline for about 20 minutes. While he was waiting, he didn’t seem to be trying to scam anyone else at that time!

A bloke with an Indian accent said he was calling from Amazon and managed to convince my aunt to install TeamViewer on her iPad. Then he had her log in to Amazon and remove her payment details. Luckily, I reached him before he could get into her account properly. When I asked for a reference number to check things with Amazon, he got really nasty and accused me of being rude. In the end, he gave a number to ring back on.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Virgin Media. When I asked about my account info, he said he wasn’t allowed to share it without checking with their commercial team. The bloke sounded friendly but was a bit too insistent. The call came through a UK mobile, and when I requested his contact details, he gave me a phone number along with what seemed like a false ID and some bogus case number.

Got calls from some folks with Indian or Sri Lankan accents a few times, saying they were from BT's tech support. They told me my IP was at risk but couldn’t really prove they actually worked for BT. Felt dodgy, so I just hung up.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from BT, offering special broadband deals. I’d just been on the phone with BT about a new account, and when I said that, the caller quickly ended the call. Felt a bit dodgy to me!

They said they were from BT, which was odd because my BT internet had actually gone down right before they called. Pretty sure it was a scam since they wanted me to install some remote access app on my phone.

Some guy called saying he was with BT and claimed there was a virus slowing down my internet. He wanted me to test my speed but I told him I was about to head out for work and didn’t have time. Then he started threatening to disconnect my service immediately if I didn’t. That’s when I knew it was dodgy and just ended the call. His accent was a really strong Indian one too.
