Hello, I’m with the IT Network team at Severn Trent Water and recently got a request to block the nuisance number 0203 287 4911. The person affected has already blocked this number on their own device but wanted it blocked at the company level too. I personally tried calling that number from three different phones, but each time I got a message saying "the number you have dialled is incorrect". This has me confused - if the number was active on December 4th, how come it’s unreachable the following day? Surely there must be some record of the previous owner of that number? Also, I’m wondering if it’s possible for fraudsters to spoof or “ghost” a number and make calls over the internet? Is this a new tactic nuisance callers are using?
