Greetings, I wanted to inform you about a recent issue we are experiencing. We have noticed that one user has been consistently sending us negative feedback regarding a specific phone number (02032874277). Additionally, this same user has been giving positive reviews for another number (02032862617). It appears that these two phone numbers belong to Indian call centers and can be considered competitors. It is worth noting that the user is using the same IP address for these reviews. Based on the IP's location in Amritsar, Punjab, India, it further supports the idea that these are potentially colliding businesses. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Best regards, Admin

The initial steps of the scam remain consistent: a call is received at a business, usually from someone with an Indian accent. They claim to be calling from British Gas, Eon, or Npower, providing the manager's name and address. The caller states that the electricity or gas contract is up for renewal, offering the best prices.

Once they gain our trust, they acquire our information from the bill. Then, they will request our banking details for direct debit payments. By doing so, they are then able to electronically withdraw money from our accounts. It is crucial to never disclose personal information to these individuals. Instead, it is advisable to contact the direct suppliers using the number provided on our electricity or gas bills in order to ensure our safety.

Received a telephone call from an individual of Indian descent, who was struggling to communicate in English. Unfortunately, I found it difficult to comprehend the intention behind their message due to their strong Nepali accent. My instincts are telling me that this could potentially be a scam.

I received a phone call from someone named James, who was attempting to sell me something. He lured me in by offering a whopping 99% discount if I paid using direct debit. However, his true intentions became clear as he persistently tried to obtain my direct debit information. Without a doubt, this man is a deceitful scammer.

Beware of persistent phone calls with an Indian accent coming from a blocked or +220202020 number. These individuals can be quite clever as they sometimes have correct details, but they are definitely not representatives of British Gas in regard to a business electricity contract. They even mentioned a name that someone named Will would answer2032874277. Do not provide them with any details and only make outgoing calls directly to your supplier. Today, I spoke to someone named Abhisheik (the same name mentioned in a previous Eon post). He claimed to be a Senior Manager, and before him, there was someone called Tommy. It seems that they post positive comments about themselves, but we all know that self-praise is not a credible recommendation.

Received a rather peculiar call from someone named Khota Singh, or Ravi as he referred to himself, attempting to peddle some Aviva condoms. He was offering a ludicrous 99% discount if I signed up for a direct debit. Clearly fishing for my banking details, this chap is nothing short of a crafty scammer!

I received a call from a guy named Will, who asked me to renew my electricity and gas contract with N Power. However, when I informed him that my contract is not due until 2019, he unexpectedly suggested that I purchase some energetic condoms. He claimed that they would provide us with more energy for a comfortable and enjoyable intimate experience, even offering a 7% discount if I paid by direct debit. I couldn't help but burst out laughing at the thought of having more energy options now... energetic condoms, what a surprise!

Some people have the knack for wasting other people’s time by using multiple aliases like Will, James, Mac, and so on, concealing their true identity. You can try to figure out who they really are, but it's best to ignore them. They're just idle individuals with nothing better to do than make petty comments. Remember, an idle mind is the devil's workshop.

Received a phone call earlier from someone claiming to be from British Gas. The person identified themselves as Abishek, but had an Indian name. They had a weak accent and seemed to be a broker. The individual was making false promises and attempting to sell me a contract. What a foolish individual, quite amusing really! Ha-ha!

A year ago, I chose to work with you as my broker agent due to a previous negative experience I had with another agent. I was initially cautious, but now, after renewing my contract with you twice, I have complete trust in you and appreciate the results you have achieved for me. It doesn't matter what others may say about you - you are the one, Will Christmas, whom I enjoy talking to the most! If you were here, I would warmly embrace you! Thank you sincerely for your exceptional services. You are truly a blessing.

I received a rather alarming call from this number today. The person on the other end, speaking with a strong Indian accent, asserted that he was representing British Gas, trying to discuss a new tariff for my upcoming contract. However, when I politely declined, his tone took a nasty turn. He became quite aggressive, even going so far as to threaten me with disconnection of my electricity supply! Such unacceptable behaviour! I intend to take this matter to the police without delay.

We recently received an alarming call from an individual of Asian descent (with a strong accent) referring to himself as . His behavior has been quite rude and bothersome. He insists that he is a representative of EON, but after verifying with EON directly, we discovered that this was false. I must admit, his persuasive tactics and high-pressure approach could potentially allow him to extract sensitive information from vulnerable individuals. What's worse is that he continues to waste our time by calling repeatedly, even after being explicitly asked not to. To top it off, he crossed the line by accusing someone of lying when informed that the intended recipient of his call was unavailable.

I received a phone call from a man named Alex Parker with an Indian accent on our fax line. He claimed to be from 'Make it Cheaper' and was providing quotes for our business electricity account. Normally, our calls from 'Make it Cheaper' are handled differently, so I found this call quite unusual. Since I didn't have all the necessary documentation at that moment, I asked him to call back the next day. After he hung up, I immediately contacted 'Make it Cheaper' to verify the legitimacy of the call. However, they had no record of anyone contacting us, and they mentioned that their team would always be able to quote our reference number if they called. The following day, Alex called again, but he couldn't provide our reference number or email any details. Clearly suspicious, I decided to politely end the conversation.
