Somebody rang me saying they were from the London city court, saying there was a cheque I could collect. Seemed a bit dodgy.

This number keeps ringing me repeatedly. Does anyone know who it belongs to?

I had something like this happen too - I came across Techvedic online and paid them around £150 to sort out my PC. Sometime after, I started getting calls from folks claiming to be Techvedic, like someone named Rahul. The latest was this bloke Mark McIntyre, who spoke with a strong Indian accent, ringing to offer me a refund via U Cash. I told him to forget it and just send some rupee notes instead. Then he told me to shove it where the sun don’t shine and hung up on me.

These bloody scammers from India call up saying there's something wrong with your computer and offer to fix it for free. But halfway through, they start demanding payment, saying you have to buy ukash vouchers to get rid of viruses. I ended up buying £500 worth, as they kept telling me the previous vouchers didn’t go through. They even promised to send me a refund cheque to cover some of it, and they seemed to know my address and phone number well enough, arranging a call for three weeks ago to sort out delivery details. Of course, I never got that call, and no cheque has turned up. Now when I try to follow it up, their number's disconnected. They hounded me about money about 20 times in two days, but as soon as it’s time to get my refund, they vanish. What a nightmare.

I’ve had calls from these folks a few times, claiming they could sort out my computer issues remotely. They said they were from tech Vedic, but I double-checked by emailing tech Vedic with the phone number, and they told me it wasn’t theirs. Just now, that same number rang me again, and when I mentioned that tech Vedic denied any connection with them, the person sounded irritated and ended the call abruptly. Would advise everyone to stay wary.

Got a call from some lot called Tech Vedic in India. They claimed there were problems with my PC, but honestly, it was all rubbish. These guys have zero connection to anything on my computer. I’ve gone ahead and told MasterCard about them.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Techvedic, but it seemed fishy, like a bunch of hackers trying to scam me. Definitely felt scammy, so I didn’t trust it at all. If you get a call like that, just be careful, could be dodgy people pretending to be legit tech support.

I got a call from someone saying they were from BT Telecom and that they needed to access my computer. But when I rang BT’s official customer support, they told me straight away that they only ever call from 0800 numbers, so this must be a scam. Definitely don’t trust anyone else claiming to be BT!
