He threatened me with imprisonment unless I followed his instructions. This is absolutely a scam - definitely not HMRC, just a group of con artists trying to make a quick buck!

Got a call first thing in the morning and it was that exact same recorded message. Immediately knew it was dodgy since you don’t get arrest warrants over the phone, ever! I reckon they target landlines thinking it’s just older folks or people who might fall for it. Proper sneaky behaviour.

Got a voicemail about a warrant file WC4589, something about a legal case with HMRC, number was 02032870055. The message said "Do not Ignore This". These calls are really distressing for many folks. Is there any way to block or stop them for good? It’s honestly quite upsetting.

I got two calls on my home phone from some recorded message saying I had a warrant out from HMRC. At first I figured it was just another scam. If it’s real though, they should be sending me proper letters and stuff, not just automated calls. I’ve not got any debts or anything with them and haven’t heard from them officially at all. Just like a few others, I’m looking after my elderly mum and luckily I managed to pick up before the message went through to her voicemail. It really threw me off for a bit. The number they want you to ring back is 02032870055 but I’m not sure from where the original call came from.

Got a really unsettling call claiming to be from HMRC, warning me about legal trouble and possible arrest if I didn’t ring them back. I honestly can’t see how anyone gets taken in by this rubbish. It’s that robotic voice pretending to be from the tax office, telling you there’s a warrant out for your arrest. Then they tell you to call a certain number to sort it out! They just blast out loads of calls, hoping someone will bite. The worst part is it tends to trick older folks who might not be so sharp on phone scams. Surely there’s got to be a way to trace it back and shut it down, hopefully with the scammers getting locked up.

Got a call on my mobile at around 8:45am, and it was some recorded message claiming to be the UK police about a warrant from HMRC. I was chatting with a mate in York on Monday who told me she's had the same scam twice on her home phone, so she knew it was fake straight away. I just hung up. It’s sad though, these scammers probably scare a lot of honest folks who don’t know any better.
