I got a call from someone saying they were with Vodafone, offering me a 30% discount. Since I pay just over a tenner a month and recently renewed my contract, it sounded dodgy from the start. The person talked really fast, except when mentioning the 30% off, and their tone was pushy - not at all like the helpful Vodafone staff I’ve dealt with before. They wanted my email address, but I said no to giving it out since it was an unsolicited call. Then they got more insistent, saying it was for security reasons and kept repeating “Listen to me,” which just felt super rude. They kept insisting they already had my email and just needed me to confirm who I was. I asked them to send me the offer by email, but they said it was phone-only. I told them I couldn’t see why this had to be done on the phone and refused again. The badgering continued until I finally said I didn’t trust them and cut off. Given this is a landline number, surely the phone company should shut it down since there are so many scam reports tied to it? My nan, who’s 93 and savvy with her mobile, wouldn’t have fallen for this either, but loads of people out there are more vulnerable - especially those struggling financially. Stuff like this can easily trick folks who aren’t as cautious.

Right from the start, I felt something was off coz the call began with "hello ma'am how are you" spoken with a strong Indian accent. She didn't even ask to speak to me or the actual account holder, just claimed to be from O2 and said I could get a 30% discount on my plan. I asked her to send the info over and she hung up straight away. Blocked the number afterwards.

Never saw the number so I ignored it, glad I did after seeing the reviews, total scam cos I ain’t with O2 anyway.

Yeah, got the same call from a bloke claiming to work for O2, saying I could get 30% off my bill for a year. He even sent me a text that looked like it was from O2 asking for a security code. He wanted me to read out the 6 digit code on the phone, but I wasn’t having it - didn’t feel right giving that info just on his word. He then said he could get a supervisor to confirm they were actually from O2, that’s when I just ended the call and blocked the number. Checked the number here and found all these warnings!

They've called me three times now, pretending they're from O2 and offering some sort of discount. They give you this code and then ask you to repeat it. Honestly, don’t fall for it. I rang O2 myself and they warned not to say the code out loud because it could let the caller get into your phone and your account.

Got a call from this number and some bloke with an Indian accent started trying to scam me, claiming he could slash my phone bill with amazing deals. Then he started asking stuff that O2 should already have on file, like account details. He didn’t even have my actual account number. I just messed about with him, wasting his time and making up loads of rubbish. He got pretty annoyed, which honestly made it worth it. The whole thing was obviously a scam and I tangled him up so much he kept forgetting what he said and lost his place on that cheesy script. Proper entertaining. 😊 😃 😄

Got a call supposedly from Vodafone saying I was eligible for a discount on my bill, but when I checked, Vodafone said they don’t use that number to contact anyone. Definitely sounds fishy to me.
