Let it ring out till it hits voicemail - Automated voice saying - "Hello, this is the legal department from HMRC. We're contacting you to inform you that a legal case has been filed against you, and you're named as the main suspect. Your property is currently being watched, so don’t ignore this message and contact us straight away on 02032868447". These scammers are really pathetic and aggressive. Funny enough, I was once a Talktalk customer too - judging by other comments, maybe there’s a pattern here. Just a heads-up about this scare call - saying your house is being watched!

Looks like this is one of those fake H&M scam calls, maybe the so-called "House Under Surveillance" trick like others have mentioned before.

I received a call earlier today and the message was identical to what others have reported. When I tried returning the call, a chap named Simon Parker answered. Upon mentioning I’d just spoken to him, he promptly ended the conversation. I'm rather relieved I did some digging online!

Today I received a rather alarming call that had me genuinely rattled. As someone who’s self-employed, I initially thought I might have mismanaged my taxes. The caller claimed there was an affidavit lodged against me and that I would soon receive official documents, threatening court action unless I settled a supposed £500 debt immediately. Intrigued, I played along to gauge what their angle was. They then transferred me to another chap, this time with an Indian accent, who insisted I must pay straight away. At that point, I decided enough was enough and ended the conversation. I won’t lie; it was a bit of a fright at first, and I nearly took the bait!

Today, I received a call from this particular number. A polished female voice greeted me, informing me that my details had been flagged to the government tax office for some vague issue, and that they were keeping an eye on me, suggesting my residence was under scrutiny. Following this, I was instructed to ring a separate recorded line for further instructions. Just a word of caution to all-stay vigilant!

Yeah, got one of those robocalls too with a woman’s voice saying she was from HMRC and that I was being investigated and owed some cash. Didn’t bother calling back since it was outside of regular hours and figured it was a scam.

I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t have saved. They left a voicemail saying my house was in danger and someone would be keeping an eye on me. Didn’t bother listening to the whole thing, just got rid of it!

I received a rather alarming voicemail from this number, claiming I'm now a key suspect in an ongoing investigation linked to my name, and that my property is currently being monitored. They urged me not to ignore their message and instructed me to ring 02032868447 immediately. To say it's unsettling would be an understatement! However, a bit of online research has revealed that it’s nothing more than a scam. Phew! Cheers to the internet for clearing that up!

I tried returning their call, and they inquired about my musical group before abruptly ending the conversation. Now, they seem to be ignoring my attempts to reach them again.

I finally picked up after dodging this number on numerous occasions. To my surprise, it turned out to be an automated message from a rather eloquent lady. She informed me that I was under some sort of investigation by the tax authorities for an unspecified matter and that my home was apparently being monitored. She instructed me to ring a different recorded number if I wanted guidance on how to proceed. Quite alarming, to say the least!

Just got a call from this number today. It was a recorded message from a posh sounding lady saying I’d been reported to the government tax folks for some vague reason, and apparently my home is under watch. Told me to ring a recorded line for guidance on what to do next. Watch out, this is dodgy!!

I keep getting calls from someone claiming to be from TalkTalk’s tech support, and they ring almost every day. There’s no number showing on my phone so I can’t check, but I almost got tricked until they asked me to install some software to fix my PC. Now when they call, I just tell them the call is recorded and tracked, and they hang up right away. It’s about time they got caught - they must be getting our info from somewhere. - Tom

some bloke called alex martin from bt rang me from 02032868447 sayin my internet would be cut off for a fortnight if I didn’t follow his instructions. when I called him out saying it was a scam, he said he was actually in india. weirdly, he still knew my full address and even hinted he might send someone round. no clue how he got my details, but in this day and age, it’s not exactly a surprise.

Got a call from a woman saying she was from TalkTalk's tech support. She knew my full name and mentioned something about a big security issue or harmful data on my account or whatever. I asked for her name and she said Olivia. When I asked where she was calling from, she said London but had a really thick Asian accent that was hard to get. I didn’t trust it so I asked for a number to ring her back. She gave me 0203 2868447. I looked up this number here and definitely wont be calling back!

someone rang saying they were from talk talk tech support. got quite rude when i told them i couldnt chat then, saying there was an issue with my internet that needed fixing. kept pushing me to note down their number to call back. at first i wasnt sure if they were legit but after seeing the other reviews, im relieved i didnt get involved!

This number rang me and the man said he was from BT, warning that our internet would be disconnected tomorrow unless I let him onto my computer to sort out a supposed ‘error’. He spoke with an Asian accent and said his name was ‘Elwin’. Weirdly, he already knew my name, postcode, and phone number, so it sounded convincing. When I wouldn’t let him access my computer, he got quite pushy. After ending the call, I phoned the official BT helpline and they confirmed it was a scam! Be careful, this number is definitely dodgy!

Got three calls from these lot today. Told them i doubted they were really from TalkTalk and the bloke got a bit sharp with me. Then he handed me over to a manager who kept going on about hackers and viruses, saying I needed to log into my computer. After that, he gave me a phone number to ring immediately. Obviously, I didn’t bother ringing back - just another dodgy scam trying to swindle people out of cash.

my mum got a call from someone she believed was from talk talk. they seemed to know loads about her and said there was an issue with her internet, she has been struggling with drop outs for months, so she thought it was legit. they gave her this number 02032868447 and said a guy called brian smith would come saturday to swap her router and told her to install some software on her PC, which we thankfully removed as soon as i realised the truth. unfortunatly, they also managed to get hold of her card info for a £395 compensation, which was actually taken from her bank today.

Someone rang me saying they were from TalkTalk, saying someone tried hacking our internet. Then they wanted us to download some .prc file and log into our bank. Seems dodgy to me.

Someone pretending to be from Talk Talk kept saying there was an issue with my internet. They couldn’t give me a proper postcode for where they were calling from. They kept calling all the time and this time they were really insistent it was Talk Talk. Usually, when I say I’ve reported them, they just hang up.

Someone said they were from Talk Talk and told me my internet was hacked by terrorists, and if I didn’t do what they said, the police would come the next day to arrest everyone in my house. I asked what exactly they wanted me to do (turns out they wanted me to log into their site so they could steal my info!!!), so I asked for their phone number to check if they really worked for Talk Talk. Then I phoned Talk Talk’s real customer service and reported everything. Seems like this scam has been around for quite some time. Watch out!

some woman said she was from talk talk. the connection was really bad. she said my internet had been hacked and would be cut off soon. kept pushing me to get on the computer with her. i asked if she could call back so i could check it was really talk talk, she gave me a number to ring. i phoned talk talk customer service instead and they confirmed everything was fine with my internet. they even added a free anonymous call blocker and a way to block calls from that number.

Got a call two days in a row from someone claiming to be TalkTalk saying my internet would be cut off soon. When I asked for their contact details and said I'd ring customer service myself, they gave me the number 02032868447. That’s definitely not TalkTalk’s official number. I checked by dialling 1471 and it just showed as 0 (zero). Pretty clear this is a scam.

Got a call from David claiming to be Talk Talk. When I questioned him, he handed me this number. I've had calls before telling me to turn on my computer. Checked with Talk Talk and they confirmed it's a scam. Best thing to do is simply hang up.

someone saying they were from talktalk about my internet. this bloke ‘ben’ gave me a number to ring back but it doesn’t look like it’s connected to talktalk at all. i’ve had a bunch of calls like this recently but this was the first time they actually gave me a phone number when i asked. it’s a real number (someone did pick up) but i didn’t bother to follow up on it!
